I have heard negatives towards the beneficiaries of affirmative action in that if it is pushed too hard, the beneficiaries will eventually suffer in the end in addition to those that were pushed aside for it. If someone who is under qualified is pushed through and continued to be pushed through, eventually this will catch up to them. And if this reality check is being fired for a job that they were not quite qualified for, and let’s say they committed hard by moving to new state and putting a down payment on a house or something, they could be in quite a bind. Sort of an extreme example, but showing how even a beneficiary can suffer in the end

True, but to some degree it’s more about where you grew up than your skin color. A poor white person from the ghetto is probably going to act more like a poor black or poor Hispanic person from the ghetto than they would act like a rich white person from the suburbs

My opinions are based on a variety of non-partisan sources-research, studies, SME analysis. When I do read something that is (or even feels) partisan to me, I will seek out other sources which will either confirm or deny what the first source said (which is what critical thinkers do).

On the contrary, many who regularly consume right wing news dont bother to question what they see/hear because it is intentionally created to line up with their pre-existing opinion. That pre-existing opinion was created by what they have been consuming. Therefore we have a positive feedback loop which is radicalizing the right more and more as right wing media has to go more and more to the extreme to continue to capture viewers.

Also-choosing to be antithetical to whatever the mainstream thinking on an issue is doesn't make you a "free thinker", especially if that antithetical view has no concrete factual basis (Im thinking of Aaron Rodgers here).
