I personally think it’s stupid to put your political leanings in your bio, just like it’s stupid to do it as a private company. Your goal with your profile is to market yourself, and by putting political opinions there you immediately cut ~50% of your potential matches before they’ve ever met you

Maybe you could change their mind on their politics? Maybe you aren’t as different as you thought? It’s hard enough for most people who are below a 7 attractiveness to get people to message them already, no reason to shoot yourself in the foot and make it even harder but cutting 50% of those out

Edit: I also think it’s a bad idea to be negative about literally anything in your bio. “I don’t like players. Don’t play games with me!” That’s not going to stop any actual players, but it will make you seem moody and high maintenance to non-players. I think the only thing it is acceptable to be negative about IS dating sites, surprisingly. It’s not worthwhile to be negative about anything else that people already have a negative opinion about. “I don’t want murderers. Don’t murder me!” Yeah….obviously. Normally parents would often seek validation THROUGH their children, which is also something I personally don’t agree with: this idea that I’ll raise my kids to accomplish what I couldn’t in life and then it will be like I accomplished those things

I think everyone should be free to live their life their own way, and no life is somehow measurably “better” than another. So when I offer advice on how to get more messages and more dates from dating apps, what you do with those dates is entirely up to you. If you tell your date on the first date you really want to get married and have kids one day, that’s great, that will also probably help you, because like I said most people on dating sites have that same goal. Initially, you want to meet the most people you can, and then decide if your goals align or not

People here can feel free to tell me about their lovely marriage and kids, that’s not doing anything to change my mindset on what I want to do. I know for a fact that bumble and tinder do not make you pay month to month. They offer a way to pay to get “perks” like much more visibility for your profile. I always assumed these were a rip off because how the hell would I know if they really did anything

I do think for those apps they put people who are active higher up in people’s search results, so you are more likely to get matches if you check it daily versus once or twice a month. Here’s an anecdotal example. My dad told me when he got on trt his test wasn’t low. He had seen an endocrinologist for a diff reason, and the dr mentioned it and my dad latched onto the idea

He got tested and the dr said he didn’t meet the medical qualifications for it to be covered by insurance (which are the qualifications to need it), but if he wanted to pay out of pocket for it, the dr would sign off on the treatment, essentially stating that he needed it

Dad since then has no regrets, let’s hope he doesn’t get prostate cancer, that’s the biggest risk
