What I think is a dark horse that is more impactful than any of these factors in weight loss is what I’ve seen loosely referred to as a “metabolic set point”
I don’t have nearly the info or credentials to define it better but my own layman definition is a combination of things keeping your body “used to” and expecting a particular ratio of fat to muscle
Losing weight is so significantly less miserable when given enough time for the body to generate a new metabolic set point as homeostasis. When that happens, all of a sudden eating too much will make the body suggest eating less, while eating too little will bring a reasonable level of hunger. Not the ravenous, hollow, holy shit I can’t function I’m so hungry level of hungry which happens as the fat is being lost but before the body can settle into a new metabolic set point
I have felt this personally myself when I was able to shift to having consistently less fat than before and keep it long enough, but it took what felt like months

Not really about weight loss but about men’s issues, with fitness influencer Mike Thurston, the most objectively good lookin dude on the planet and the one I would probably bang if I were gay. Listened to the entire thing at the gym and found it interesting
Mike didn’t say as much insightful stuff, but Chris sure does. The men’s issues section starts at 24min and is labeled in the video timeline

I want to be able to do full body physique update, but I really have no idea how to flex everything at the same time. Next one ima try to get the zyzz pose down maybe. This one is just post-run tonight (no pump), but beach physique aesthetics on point so far
Remember, I’m gay for posting, and you’re gay for looking (covered up my junk to be tasteful tho)

Journey update, 157lbs this morning. I've been in the gym hard for like 5 months, still skating a good bit too. I'm starting to really get close to my ultimate goal.
https://imgur.com/2BwwsSS.jpg
This is my worst picture of myself, august of 2020. My journey actually began in Feb 2020, so I had already been losing weight for like 6 months in this picture. I was honestly too ashamed to take a pic of myself at my worst, so just imagine this picture, but much more fat.
https://imgur.com/pAkaFph.jpg
And this is me this morning, after a little more than 3 years of transformation. The journey has had it's ups and downs but I am very proud of how I look now. I'm starting to legit look like a human monk.
Have a nice day guys, Happy Easter.

Saw this on a yahoo article, from Ariana Grande:
“Grande is no stranger to addressing comments made about her body. Back in 2015, after being called a "stick," she wrote that shaming statements about anyone are not OK. "We live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are. Diversity is sexy! Loving yourself is sexy!” Grande shared, “You know what is NOT sexy? Misogyny, objectifying, labeling, comparing and body shaming!!! Talking about people’s body’s as if they’re on display ASKING for your approval / opinion. THEY ARE NOT!!!! CELEBRATE YOURSELF. CELEBRATE OTHERS.”
- If you put your photo online, it is fair game for any kind of comment, including super negative. If you can’t handle it, maybe try not putting your photo out there, or if that is unavoidable, maybe not reading the mean comments
I love women bitching about people being critical of their looks, without realizing that in the fitness community men not only have to do just as much blood sweat and tears to stay at or around 10% bodyfat, but also have to put on a shitload of muscle. Many, many times more effort to look a certain way. You can get a little taste of that effort and put on some muscle to not look like a “stick”. But cry on

Aesthetics matters to many men, but it’s usually not the main objective, nor is it for me. I like to be fast and functionally strong first and foremost, and to try to do it in a way that is the most aesthetic secondly. Not caring about aesthetics is perfectly fine, but it will usually result in neglected and over-used muscles creating a weird look (too small legs, arms, shoulders, or whatever). If someone doesn’t care about that, even though it probably could be fixed with some small adjustments, then you do you, I say to them
Anyway, I’m gonna be gone from here I think for a bit. It’ll be up to whoever to keep this thread going and my guess is it’s gonna die. I will prolly try to post one more “Goal achieved: best shape of my life at 40” pic around when I turn 40 this year, a few months out.
Right when I started to mention being invested and emotionally vulnerable to gf she got distant and wanted a break. That was this week. Stung a bit NGL. I couldn’t help but get clingy, she was pretty awesome
Anyway, Tinder to the rescue as I cycle through the stages of grief. Meeting this pilipina hottie this coming wknd, she texts a lot. Wanted to put a pic of me and her on fb bc gf still on fb as friend, but not spiteful and passive aggressive like that
Anyway, sorry I’m not gone but basically am for a bit

Single mother of 2 living in a bad part of town, with her apartment complex about to raise rates, who gave me many great memories and is still in contact as a friend (which usually doesn’t work but will be much easier with me dating again)…I have absolutely no issue with this
It’s generally what can happen when the girl is 10+ years younger and you start talking about things getting serious. To me it looks like cold feet
Ironically enough, speaking of aesthetics, it was that full body physique pic I posted her that really sold it with this pilipina girl. Tinder loves that kinda shit. So just in case anyone thought aesthetics doesn’t matter at all

so, i've been keeping up my loss of 5lbs every month, weighed myself today and i'm at 331, feel good about being 330 by may 1st. also i've quit soda for good finally, due to having a stroke and being in a hospital for a week. diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure, on meds for all that. couldn't stop the trainwreck on my own but at least i slowed it down enough to not have any permanent damage, so i'm thankful for that. starting to workout with alternating squats + running in place for leg day and modified jumping jacks + pushups for arms, situps in the morning every day.

We're gonna revisit alcohol after kids are all grown lol If you know you can live without it, it's probably not gonna hurt to just break the chain. Hope you're feeling recouped soon! There is no way to do the eat 10,000 burn 10,000 challenge without overtraining
You are going to put your cortisol through the roof. For me, I figured out that my horrible insomnia was from overtraining certain workouts, specifically when I would do all upper body in a 2 hour workout all super-set (no breaks between sets, just moving to a diff muscle). Eventually my joints would start to ache and my body would be sending strange signals, sort of feeling like I was in a car wreck
I’d get myself stuck in this like flight or fight state, I’d have what I call the heebee geebee’s and not only could I not sleep that night, I couldn’t even lay in the same position for more than 10 minutes without having to shift position
There’s no way I could do this challenge without putting myself in that flight or fight overtrained state. Not worth it…I guess it would depend on how much $$ the vid could make you though

Like many people, I faced the problem of being overweight and decided to do something about it. I began to watch my diet, increased my physical activity, and sought help from specialists. One of the factors that helped me to keep from falling off and stay motivated was the opportunity to get support and advice from other people with the same problem on stripchat.com (https://stripchat.com/). Here I found a community of like-minded people ready to support and praise me for my achievements. What sets these gummies apart is their commitment to providing a guilt-free treat. By utilizing natural sweeteners like stevia or erythritol, manufacturers ensure that the keto acv gummies reviews (https://addictionresource.com/health-and-nutrition/mens-health/keto-acv-20-gummies-reviews-for-weight-loss/) maintain their delightful sweetness without compromising on carb counts. Other than, I suppose, lowering your risk of cardiac death in exchange for $$$
ozempic is not as much of a magic pill as some are saying. I haven’t studied it extensively, but from what I heard it slows down the passage of food through the digestive tract to produce that satiated feeling
When you slow food passing through the digestive tract, you open up a bunch of possible GI side effects and risks, the most serious (but most rare) being a life-threatening blockage
Some people also think they can just take ozempic and eat whatever they want, which obviously isn’t true, it only changes satiety. And when people stop taking it, they tend to put the weight back on
It’s been tempting for me to try, but I don’t mind the hollow hunger ache that comes along with dieting as much as most people. Once I’m in that state, I tell myself that my body is now eating fat stores for energy, when it wasn’t before when I wasn’t hungry. This makes the uncomfortable feeling more “worth it”

YESS agree 100%
Plus honestly I actually highly recommend vanity. Vanity can carry sometimes just like discipline
And I think being vain is easier for guys because we have a greater ability to put on muscle to make our “thin” build look better
You know the expression: “That cookie won’t taste as good as being thin feels”. Replace feels with “looks” and make sure that you tone enough of your body to make it be true, and that vanity can take you places
There’s a reason the fat girls are in the back of the gym while the in-shape fit and hot ones are center stage in their spandex. Vanity is helping their discipline
Embrace the dark side ;)

Well it was quite an ordeal, quite an adventure yesterday
Humphrey’s peak was a bit of a mean girl this go round. She demanded a lot of sweat and bit of blood. My dad had a 0% chance of making it because of the shitty terrain, and he had to turn around
But I done it, 12,600ft summited. I’ll be posting a longer description of what went wrong and many pics later today because I took a lot

Humphrey’s Summit started out on a bad foot with me getting almost no sleep, dunno why I never can sleep well camping these days. Not good for a 5+ mile one way, all uphill at altitude hike with uncertain terrain…
Luckily God at least blessed Dad and I with good weather. But shortly a few miles in we started to see increasing amounts of snow. I was wearing my trail running hiking shoes (not boots) fairly heavily worn from doing a desert mountain multiple times per weekend for almost a year. Dad had heavy hiking boots with amazing tread. Either way, we really still needed crampons or something similar. The snow was melting into an icy slush and slopes sometimes at a 20-30 degree angle. You could step where other people had made depressions with their steps but as I got higher the depressions became smaller and fewer due to more people burning out and turning around. Of the 20ish people I passed only myself and 2 others I saw make the summit
This did not include dad. His newly reconstructed ankle could not handle the lateral movement of sliding down the occasional small snow/drift wall and after a decent fall he had to turn around, leaving me solo. My biggest weakness is lack of direction sense and the trail was as poorly marked and maintained as I had ever seen it. It was incredibly easy to get off trail and of course I eventually did
I went probably 1/8th of a mile in the wrong direction, believing one of Humphrey’s smaller peaks I could see in the distance was the summit, which it wasn’t. When I finally realized this and tried to correct, I was hopelessly lost on a super steep slope of shale that slid as I tried to scramble up it. I almost caused mini rock avalanches down the side of the mountain and stumbled more than once, gashing up my knee and finger and causing my right hand to swell up like a Mickey Mouse glove for the rest of the hike
I called out for others but almost no one was hiking that far, and no one heard me. I circled back, bushwhacking it along a steep slope until finally I found a trail maker. I had come back on the trail much farther down/behind than I had gotten lost, and having expended a HUGE amount of unnecessary energy in my panic, scrambling, and falling. But I still felt like I could finish, time and the weather were still on my side!
So I continued on and ran into a group of people who saw me bloodied and offered bandaids, which I politely declined saying bandaids are for pussies. Then one of the group said is someone yelling “help!”? Sure enough on the wind came spaced out yells of “Help!” and sadly my first thought was relief that it was far too young a voice to be my dad, I had worried he could have a bad fall either coming down or trying to catch me, which considering the terrain he had zero chance to do
But this was a young boy and so my next thought was “ok, summit attempt abandoned, this is now a rescue mission” and began moving out in the direction of the yells yelling back “WHERE ARE YOU?! I CAN’T SEE YOU!” Finally through some back and forth Marco Polo I was able to deduce it was a 14ish yr old boy who had, like me, gotten hopelessly off trail and was about 80yards down a valley below it. Luckily he was not seriously hurt and could eventually follow my voice back to the trail where he met up with his dad. He was shaken up and beat up and needless to say they didn’t finish and turned around
I still wanted to push for the summit but the last 20% was on steep slippery sharp shale-like rock and really taxed me. It was also incredibly windy with no cover and I was freezing my balls off up there. There was an army ammo lockbox with various writings and things inside I had never seen before and photographed some of. Then I had someone there take my pic, and hauled down without incident
Overall, I’m pissed I got lost, I’m pissed at how poorly the trail was marked, and the next time I go I’m bringing the same orange ribbon the natives use (they just used hardly any) to mark the sketchiest and easiest to go off trail sections myself. But I’m thankful that I was able to help someone, didn’t get badly hurt, and finished

Greg explains that 30%+ bodyfat is about the ideal for a competitive power lifter….assuming cardio is still there…which, let’s be real, for most powerlifters it’s NOT there. Because, as Greg explains “mass moves mass in general”…I’ve never heard it broken down that simply, but it makes sense. I always wondered why we never see a shredded power lifter, and I guess Mitchell Hooper is one of the closest we’ll get. At least his cardio is far above most powerlifters, because it was good before and he goes out of his way to maintain it
I like when these 2 get together. Props to Greg for always keeping his bodyfat perfect on point year round, especially at his age. Dude is an inspiration

Nice hikes. I'm climbing Shasta next month and have been doing a pretty tough 12-week mountaineering training program. 4 days of cardio, 2 days of strength, 1 rest day per week.
Also eating like ~130g of protein a day and watching my cals. I'm down about ~5-6lb overall but at the same time have put on muscle. My wife and I are both pleased.
I've always been strong in cardio because I've been a big hiker/backpacker/semi-runner for about a decade now. This is the first time I've actually felt strong though.

No, I haven't done any guided trips. I just started local/small and got comfortable on snow. Did hikes on lower grades with microspikes. Then some steeper stuff with crampons. Got comfortable using the ice axe and learning how to self arrest. You'll also meet people out there when you're doing that stuff, and often that can turn into a big learning experience.
Lots of YouTube videos will show you how to use crampons and an ice axe properly. Search for French Technique and Standard crampons usage. Ice Axe stuff search how to self arrest.
After this though you need to actually practice. Take some easy winter hikes in microspikes along flat trails. Do some steeper stuff in crampons and get comfortable with how you move in them.
Find some safe areas where if you slip, there are no bad consequences. Think a long runout at the bottom of a 30-45deg slope. Go there, climb up, and fall down and start sliding in different positions. Stop yourself. This just needs to become second nature because if you find yourself in a slide situation with any sort of actual exposure/consequences, you need to stop soon or you won't be able to at all.
If I ever manage to do a biiiiig objective like Denali (7+ days) I'll def be using a guide program though.
Freedom of the Hills is the bible for backcountry/mountaineering safety.

Ya, one of the guys we chatted up on the way up (my Dad is a huge chatty Kathy and insists on talking to literally everyone he passes everywhere…) was talking about how he was practicing “self-arresting?” on my last hike
Personally, I don’t see myself doing enough alpine hikes. I hate the fookin cold, lived in AZ my entire life so I am a desert rat. It’s not that my threshold is that much lower, is that when I do finally get cold I’m miserable and Ima let everyone around me know it ;)

Is $130 per month for a martial arts program a lot? These places are so cagey with price quotes. Mainly about fitness, I have no intention of competitive fighting at my age.

No, boxing and martial arts gyms are all typically going to be above $100/mo. Could be seen as worth it when you can do other workouts using their equipment if you want (like just lifting with their weights if they have them there) + the specialized martial arts training
Yea, best goal is just for the workout IMO. All that matters is finding a kind of movement you like

To me maybe the thing that would move it down from elite and to above average would be the lack of traps (from that angle). But I try to check my scrutiny of this because PED’s have skewed mine and many people’s perception of traps and upper back. Those parts of the body have some of the most androgen-responsive cells of anywhere, so they get big easily with PED’s
Big traps on a natural are more rare and harder to get

Funny that they made these fat avatars with the message that you are beautiful just the way you are, then still stylized the avatar’s hair and airbrushed the face because I guess you’re not quite beautiful enough though
Hey, new rule: If you insist on having an avatar that looks just like you because realism, then the avatar will have to play with an amount of strength and endurance that you would realistically have as well. So your fat avatars should only be able to jump a foot off the ground and get super winded running 20 steps lol
I mean, don’t we want realism? Or do we pick avatars that look better than us because we like to imagine ourselves that way in a fantasy world?

Lol knew this was going to be a bunch of whiny envious bs
“Defining certain body types as ideal or as trends can "fuel anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, social anxiety and self-doubt," according to New York-based therapist Eliza Davis”
- Uh, sorry, whether your self-esteem can handle it or not, there exists an objective “ideal” from many different standpoints such as health, aesthetics
- Let’s get a reminder about the definition of ideal: “a person or thing regarded as perfect”
“"The summer body archetype is typically viewed as a body that fits the idealized beauty standard, which is flat stomach, toned body, not a hint of cellulite or stretch marks," says Mejia. "Basically, it is a perpetually impossible to obtain body ideal."
- Obviously it’s not impossible, or you wouldn’t be able to define it with your exaggerated and hyperbolic arguments. Not a hint of cellulite or stretch marks? Is that why you’re so jealous at all the positive attention the fit mom models get? They have stretch marks from pregnancy and no one cares, some people even give them praise for them. What people see as ugly is all the fat your stretch marks are on top of. Anyway, very difficult, not impossible
“"The whole bikini body thing started popping up as headlines in magazines and articles and everything as this idea that you should be getting in shape for summer because you’re going to want to wear a bikini or you’re going to be showing more skin."
- Finally you get real. You ARE going to be showing more skin with less material. And people are going to judge what they see. If your brain can’t handle that judgement, then show less skin. /shrug

Find a mob you can kill while safely afk'ing between respawns. After every kill, do 15 pushups and 25 squats (or until failure). Repeat. throw in variations like incline/decline pushups, split and cossak squats, maybe some calf raises or planks, etc.
play for a few hours and without even knowing it you've done a few hundred push ups and squats.

But, unfortunately, despite what I perceive as his inner motivations, he is correct on a lot of stuff
I only skimmed this, but if wanting a reason to dog on a gal about her ideas on weight loss, she sets up a layup
I have loose skin around my stomach from being fat too, as much as this gal. It sucks, but if it bothered me enough, yeah I’d have it lazered off

My thoughts:
The 20 yr old kid who’s posting tik tok videos of his extreme back acne after 4 months of steroids while having almost no gains is not lying about taking steroids like many people claim. Not only is it very rare to have back acne that bad without hormone imbalances, he also has very visible gyno nips in some of the vids (again, rare to see without gear use). So what I believe is going on is that he is taking testosterone for the fun of it, and pretending to be a gym bro posting vids of him “lifting” but not really lifting or just half-assing everything, proving that gear use alone =/= gains. Because after 4 months of steroids all he got was gyno and backne, no actual gains
The gal that is pissed that someone took her Roman horse machine has no right to be. As someone who also supersets multiple pieces of equipment at once, gym etiquette says you can only be on one machine at a time. You can’t tie up multiple pieces of equipment just because you are supersetting without breaks

Yea one time during a 7 mile run I had to duck into a culvert, fire an explosive shit cannon, wipe with my socks, and finish the run sockless. Happens to many runners eventually. Panda Express was a mistake lol
Did this one time at 5:30 am at Eglin AFB. Was on a 8 mile booter, about halfway so max distance to hotel, no public toilet around.
Pulled off into some poor bastards yard and just exploded pure soft serve/soup. I was panicked to get the hell out of there and used my $60 favorite running shirt.
Dude at the hotel front desk asked me what happened to my shirt when I returned. I was honest. He laughed his ass off. Good times.

I’m gonna do my annual heat run on the hottest possible part of the hottest day
Saturday is supposed to actually be 117, but unfortunately I have a family bday party sat afternoon
Friday at 115 is decent. I think I’ll do my usual mountain hike in the morning Friday, but then at 3-5pm time frame I plan to do the Annual Heat Run
You tend to see a lot of dead birds from what I remember from past runs. I have to wear a pear of shoes I don’t care about because the rubber bindings tends to melt

Ima Runkeeper it only to show the time of day and distance (hoping for at least 3+ miles)
Speed is going to be bad though. There’s no way to cool down running at that temperature, so I have to pace my steady increase in body temp to coincide with it being highest at the end, ideally

Baptized by fire - Annual Heat hike/run
Did my usual hike in the mid-late morning. That was ez, finished the same time I usually do
Strange, no one at the summit. No one wants to hike it when it’s triple digits out (there were a few people on trail, most didn’t finish)

The run was harder, and had some hiccups
I tried to go the hottest possible part of the day, when it was 114 out. Didn’t see any dead birds this go round, but the two homeless people hiding in the shade at the park did a double take the first time I went zipping by
Needless to say, not another soul was outside at the park or on the way to and from. I tried to avoid the shade from the trees on one side as best I could, because shade is cheating. A lot of cars were going by bc it was just before rush hour, hoping I motivated a few people to have the thought “what’s your excuse”
The problem came when my music started to skip. I pulled my phone out and saw it was giving a heat warning and then it turned itself off
I was a bit bummed and de-motivated and stopped when it did. Runkeeper said I was a little over 3 miles at that time at a 9.14m/mile pace
I may try again on another 115+ day, but I’ll have to get some kind of an ice pack cozy for my phone to go in. Even in my pocket it overheats (iPhone 10XR)

If you’re still playing PM me your char’s name. I just logged in for the first time in a long time, and may be logging in occasionally on weekends. We can do a duo someday maybe

Corrupted by memories of The Rock and other fitness influences doing 10,000 calorie challenges, I decided fuck it, I’ll do a high-calorie challenge
2 full plates of chicken and ribs, 2 brownies, 3 cookies, and 2 giant slices of ice cream cake
At home a few hours later and couldn’t do anything, had to just fall asleep. Woke up the next morning feeling super sick to my stomach. At first I thought it was a hangover, but remembered I only had 3 shots at the party
I heard some of the best things you can do to get blood glucose back under control is lots of water and exercise. So there I was the next morning running fasted cardio laps with gut rot, feeling like I was going to puke the entire time

Ty, but I have a few things going for me:
- Bald, lose a lot of heat out through my head
- Lived here my entire life
- Never got heatstroke before, because I’m told once you do your threshold to get it again is lowered. It’s why one of my cousins is so scared of heatstroke, she’s had it twice
I couldn’t tell my family about this stupid challenge or they would freak out on me. Even though I had staged a second huge water bottle under a tree at the park in case I needed to stop, duck into shade, and pour mine on myself, I’d still have some left to drink. But even saying that my family would call me dumb/suicidal so I can only talk about it here
Edit: also when the trail marker says “extremely difficult”….yea that’s for desert hikes. Alpine hikes at high altitude are many many times more difficult and dangerous IMO. At least I can breathe easy here….

When it’s 125 degrees they wear fluffy white sun-repelling suits and have a van with a doctor driving behind them most of the way
I think Goggins has done badwater but I don’t recall
Yea no shit, when I lived in California's central valley I used to run in 100'+ weather every summer. Shit, we had football practice in that. Just gotta hydrate and recognize your limit. 110+ is a bit intense, got to be careful with that because if you run out of water at the wrong time you die
A lot of these heat deaths occur in places unaccustomed to that level of heat or in vulnerable people like fatties and geriatrics

No idea how you guys do endurance
Half marathon is the most I’ll ever do and I hate it
I think most people screw up training endurance
There are so many adaptations going on when doing cardio below the anaerobic threshold, but people fuck that up and try going too fast too early. If someone can’t comfortably talk while doing cardio without feeling winded they are going too fast. I think people think that if they aren’t gasping for air, they aren’t improving
Not only does the VO2 max oxygen carrying capacity increase, but the muscles adapt to be more energy efficient. As these adaptations occur, cardio continues to feel more and more comfortable. There should be a particular run speed that you can do essentially indefinitely without feeling winded or tired
Once that is achieved, it’s just a matter of slowly and slightly increasing that speed. I dunno why people hate cardio, but I assume it’s from going too hard too soon

I haven’t run in a while. When I did I’d do 4-6 miles. Maybe once or twice a month I’d push it out to 8-9 and the most I’ve done is a half marathon. I like cardio, but things like an actual marathon are insane to me.

Rangers actually recommended against Avalanche Gulch starting the day before our attempt. We went up Clear Creek on the east face and set up camp around ~8700'. Got up at 1:15a for the summit push but red flag warning started overnight, and there were literally 90mph+ gusts knocking hikers to the ground above 10k. We turned back at mushroom rock at about 13000'. I don't think anyone made the summit that day.
Next time I'm going earlier in the season so I can climb up and ski down AG.

He kept saying “don’t you remember that scene from Dances with Wolves where he almost drank from the water with the dead horse in it?!” and was crushed that neither myself nor the ranger remembered that movie

Here’s a story, since I just died in EQ so fuck that game not gonna play
This pic is actually around 5 years old. It was me who was barely lifting going from one month of SARMs right into the strongest PED in the entire world: 2 months of Tren
It was designed to grow livestock, truly never meant for human consumption, and not like those others that really are but just say that to get around the rules *wink wink. This was made for cows
One of the few that gave instant strength even before the muscle was built. I dunno the science of why, but I know it cranks the hell out of the nervous system as well so probably muscle recruitment. It also made me put on in 2 months what took 2-3 years to later re-do without
Also does come with mental changes. Increased aggression, but also a feeling lethal-ness. Knowing you are stronger than you should be, almost stronger than your frame would imply. I went from two 45 on each side squat to four 45 on each side in 2 months
Another mental change was horny as F. And with a fwb who was loving the new physique, it started out as heaven. The only downside was 1 month in I switched gyms to a further location. I was sick of getting side eye from the regulars who see me there everyday realizing “wow that guy put on 5lbs of muscle in a week, wonder if he’s natty huehuehuehue”. So I switched out of embarrassment
Then
2 months in, haven’t seen the fwb in weeks and she’s hitting me up. Go over there, can’t do nothing. Tell myself you’re just rusty and have some performance anxiety, shake it off and take a viagra and you’ll be fine. So I pop one and nothing. Take another and still nothing. Uh oh…
Go home dejected, next day pull up the hottest porn I can possibly find. Nothing. Why do I have the dick of a 90yr old man??! UH OH
Get off the Tren immediately. Didn’t realize that prolactin was through the roof, that the drug messes with that. Didn’t take cabergoline. Stayed impotent for 2 months. “Sorry baby I’m not going to be able to come visit for a while….”
Hell
Afterwards
Bye bye size
Bye bye strength
Trump’s booking record declared the former president’s height to be 6-foot-3 and his weight 215 pounds — nearly 30 pounds lighter than his disclosed weight at the time of his last official White House physical.

dang it must suck being Arnold's fat kid
who is whose mom tho? or are they both maria shriver's kids?
if the muscle kid has the kennedy genetics and the fat kid has the mexican maid genetics then...
there might be an argument, but still not an excuse
Oddly enough the one on the left is the son of the Mexican hobgoblin
btw that's not how genes work; children of the same two biological parents can have wildly different genotype/phenotype. But yes it's also not typically logical to blame your genes for your fitness.

oh yeah ive never believed anyone is genetically fat, every gram of fat on your body entered through your mouth.
makes sense i bet the muscle kid felt a lil different growing up being the bastard, while fat kid was just born rich and famous. looks like he might be shorter too
my brother is like 7" shorter than me and he works out constantly. he's 11 years younger too.
eats so much fitness products and hormones that he's going bald and ive still got a full luxurious head of hair that i ignore and buzz down to 3/8 once a week.
not that i dont wanna work out, just get really bored in a gym setting. i like my workouts from landscape projects around the property or appalachian trail maintenance.
humping 40 lbs of gear and a chainsaw up a mountain gets the ol ticker pumping enough i guess

There’s twofold pressure on short guys to put on muscle, which is why I see a higher ratio of muscular short dudes than I do average height or tall ones
The first and most obvious is to compensate for one’s less desirable height. The same sort of pressure maybe someone with an ugly face might feel to keep their body fit, as a form of compensation. The second is that the benefits are more visible, muscles stretched over a smaller surface area look more full and big. It’s why short natural bodybuilders like Jeff Nippard look so incredibly yoked….based on his height his IRL EQ race would be gnome ;)
(Pic of Jeff below)
Also, I think it is undeniably easier for rich people to stay fit and/or jacked. From going to $9mo/ bargain gyms to the platinum location of Lifetime ($100/mo*) Fitness, I see a greater ratio of very fit people the higher the likely median income gets. This is probably due to being able to afford all the best food, training, supps, and drugs

Usual hike today was interesting
I got a late start at 10:40am, so it was pretty damn hot. Felt muggy too, but not sure if any humidity
One of the fast regulars I recognize, someone who has actually passed me before, I saw stopped and bent over on one knee, looking around. The thing about the fastest hikers….is not only do they never stop, they also usually never slow down. So to see one stopped can only be a bad sign. The dude hikes without water too. I decided if he’s still there when I’m on my way down to give him my extra water, but when I got back to the spot he was gone, he must have (smartly) turned around
Another dude was also hiking with no goddamn water, looked fit college age, but definitely a first timer, was checking for trail markers to make sure he still on the trail. He ended up having to turn around like 100yards before the summit, and as I saw him on the way down he was getting slower and slower
I had no extra water to give at that point, it was hot as fuck and I drank it all. I worry that something might have happened to him, hope he made it down…

But as someone who I can promise gets worse sleep than him (for example I got almost none last night), my skin doesn’t look nearly that bad
So is it the exclusively meat diet or the $10,000 (per month!) worth of growth hormone and other PED’s he admitted to doing in an e-mail them obviously lied about stopping??

the biggest reason it's easier for rich people to stay fit is FREE TIME. i work full time, have a small toddler, a house, a spouse, friends, other hobbies etc. there are very few "free" hours for me to work out. that's why i'm usually doing it from 8-9pm after the kiddo is in bed. i COULD spend that hour watching TV or playing video games, but I have make the sacrifice/choice

Looks like surgery on the nipples, a common practice amongst fitness influencers who want to abuse PED’s without worrying about estrogen conversion. Can’t develop gynecomastia if you don’t have the glands there anymore
However, having too much estrogen causes other problems aside from just visible gyno. So I personally think it’s a bad idea to think just because you had the glands removed there you can go hog wild with PED’s
Also a bad idea to be a fake fuckin natty like The Rock remains. His work ethic is undeniable, and it’s true that 99% of people on the same drugs as him wouldn’t work as hard or look as good. But still, he is deceiving the gullible

Speaking of hydration and re-hydration, MPMD did a deep dive attacking Logan Paul’s Prime drink scam. I like most of MPMD’s content, but this one seems a bit long-winded and tangential, although the information is still very good
Philion also the same day released a video on it, which I haven’t watched as much of, but seems to be a bit more succinct
I personally had already known that certain foods (veggies, fruits) are actually better at re-hydrating the body than water, and that replacing lost sodium is more important than just consuming lots of water
What I did not know is that simply consuming large quantities of water in a high temp endurance activity like an ultra-marathon WITHOUT replacing lost sodium (among other nutrients) can actually prove fatal
Both vids for anyone interested (which I understand I might be more interested than most living in a desert state):

Don't go man! That's dumb

Well that was pretty wild
Gusts of wind were strong enough to suddenly shove me a foot off course at 215lbs, that’s powerful wind
And it was a good thing I could run the route blind because I had to keep my eyes in a squint (or one closed) to not blink out my contacts
But man, when I was facing north and the wind was at my back, that was wild! It was literally like I was being carried and just had to lift my feet up
Started getting dumped on with rain so turned in after only a few laps, probably only went 2.5-3 miles
I was running by cars pulled over like “you pussies!” Good thing I’m immune to valley fever, because I inhaled a decent amount of dust. Tried to breathe through my nose as much as possible to get some filtration…

I agree with Greg Doucette’s answer on this: the best time is once you reach your natural genetic limit
The mistake so many noobs make, including multiple friends of mine, is to use PED’s thinking they can come off them and keep the gains. PED’s basically speed you along to an elite lifter’s body. But do you have an elite lifter’s lifestyle? No, they all think they do, but they don’t. Because if they did, then they would have the body. So if you cheat to speed yourself along to a body you don’t have the lifestyle to achieve, you are destined to lose it once you come off the drugs
Yes it is true, that a person with iron willpower and a wide open schedule could do a radical life-transforming adjustment going from never training, eating wrong, etc, to taking PED’s, putting on 20lbs of muscle, and then switching to doing everything perfect after coming off the gear and keep most of it. But while that’s possible, it’s just not realistic
People thinking “I can make a radical lifestyle adjustment and keep the gains once I come off the gear” also aren’t accounting for the fact their hormones will be a SLUMP, once they come off. What goes up, must come down, as the old adage goes. So good luck transitioning into an elite lifter’s lifestyle with test levels which are now (temporarily) sub-optimal for your age. There goes some of your energy level and ability to build muscle
The other big important thing Greg doesn’t mention when he answers this question is “do you have an addictive personality?”. Because gear changes not just your body but your brain, and in a good way. It becomes intoxicating. This is why people use the term “abusing” gear. There is a difference between using and abusing. Most people start with use, those who have addictive personalities soon cannot stop and move into abuse
So, if you are going to abuse it to the point where your hormones could be fucked for an extended period of time, then the best time to use would be as late as possible, assuming you can afford to transition to TRT. Because with TRT, all the negatives of the hormone slump go away. But you have to stay on it for life, and that’s expensive
So the TL:DR (imo) is either once you have reached genetic limit + are at least 35-40 years old + have the means to do TRT if needed + ideally don’t have an addictive personality
Or, never ;)

MPMD says 600mg test/week is high for a newbie? When for decades the forum-talk “bro intro cycle” has always been 500mg/week. Weird, but MPMD knows better than anyone
IMO…
80-125mg/week = TRT dose, would put your level to the high end of natural 700-900 ng/dl
125-200mg/week = “sports” TRT (weird name because it’s banned in drug tested sports, but that’s what they call this now) which will put you probably slightly above natural range, supraphysiological 1000+ng/dl. Lotta people do this because for most it’s at a point where they won’t likely have any estrogen conversion (but no guarantee of not)
200-500mg/week = actual cycle, and would probably be a good idea to look at an estrogen blocker like anaztrazole. Stupid to try to stay on this year round but many people do. The problem with staying on it year round is there is no way to lower your estrogen to within a natural range. The prescription blockers are just too strong for that. So what they’ll do is crush it down to nothing, and no estrogen in men is bad. Bad for your brain, bad for your junk, and bad for your bones/joints. So you have two options, grow man boobs or walk around with no estrogen in your body because you are taking a drug that removes it. Either one is not healthy
And when Jeff asks how much muscle to put on, it’s a loaded question. The initial “size” is just water retention in the muscle, it’s not dry lean actual muscle. No one can really tell when and where the water ends and the muscle begins, both in growth and appearance

It's intriguing how the perspective on testosterone doses has evolved over the years. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, and it's essential to consider individual factors and goals. We got a 14 month old English Setter, took him with me on a run yesterday. Will add a whole new element to my run, a partner who will run with me and always look at me like "can't we go faster".
