As for the Raid Scene, private talks wouldn't work when one interested party doesn't want to share. The uber guilds of old, Legacy of Steel, Fires of Heaven, Afterlife.. they had class, they'd let the lower guilds have cracks at raid bosses. LoS even helped my guild take down Vindi once when the CH rotation got messed up and we started losing tanks too quickly. They were after AoW but let us attempt vindi while they waited "patiently" behind us.

Recent Exploit

Recently, I found out via Rogean's inflammatory post that 2-3 TMO members who had access to a large number of TMO accounts used some sort of item dupe at some point in time on their own characters. Froovy and Internode are two that I have heard of so far (unfortunately members trusted them with access to many accounts, including one of my alt cleric accounts), I have not heard any other evidence implicating any other TMO members. Almost all banned accounts have nothing to do with any exploit. I am sure they will enjoy their no-eq christmas holidays thanks to Rogean's new hardline approach, banning unrelated parties.






Everyone knows.... if the player trust another player with their info, then they are still liable for all the thing that player has done...
Although personally i think it sucks and am opposed to this rule. If i give someone my info and they dupe on my char, I would take the punishment... and realize that its my fault for being too trustworthy, as all of the parties involved...

I would think every tmo member who has hrlped monopolize nearly all the content over the last 2 years would welcome any change that allowed them to continue participating in raiding while also putting in less time on a 13 yr old game.


32k dragons are not hard, there are probably 10+ guilds capable of killing almost every mob in game. Even hoshkar, what many people say is the hardest boss, can be taken down easily by any guild who can field 30 players at a raid. The only thing stopping them from having done so was the absolutely ridiculous state of the raiding scene prior to these "recent changes." Only a real greedy piglet of a person ( or one with some sort of superiority complex ) would try to argue the previous state of the raiding scene was better for the server than what we will hopefully have moving forward.


So what valid argument do you have against sharing content with other players after your guild irresponsibly prevented participation by them in any way possible over the last 2 years?

Looks like this server is shaping up. I don't know what spawned the sudden change of things or what bird put this notion in Rogeans ear, but it seems that P99 got it's much needed Christmas present just in time before the new year. a causal player going 1-20 makes enough plat to buy things like Yak clubs, jade maces, snare whips, and all sorts of goodies are in the 1-2k range. You would only have to farm for months to get a Fungi Tunic or a 41% haste items. And those items are not medicore. A fungi or haste item can take a lowbie and get them thru many ruff spots.

Not at all really. I would like to implement a system very different than what anyone else has suggested, but I'm not in the mood to type up a whole huge post explaining it. Jump into vent with me if you wanna chat about it later, you'll see you're very wrong.


I'm still very "anti-domination" but I don't think guild's should be able to kill mobs without camping out or tracking it. I think that a lot of people seem to think that since things are changing that they wont have to do anything for raid boss kills. That's probably why you're getting he feeling that I've somehow changed my opinion of where the raid scene should go. I think sharing mobs is the way to go, especially on an emulated server.

My only issue is I think if people want to kill mobs they can go through the trouble of making sure they have a raid force present to kill it in a timely manner (1-2 hours of spawn, preferably 1 hour imo...not anywhere in the EQ world is inaccessible in 1 hour) AND they can track it on their own. For instance if some sort of rotation type system is in place, I think stipulations should be made that call for whatever guild is up at bat to kill the mob in a timely manner AND be tracking it throughout. If they fail to do these two things they should lose their chance at an engage.

My system involved not rotation, but guilds bidding each week on the mobs they wanted to kill. A sort of "Raid DKP point system" if you will, but its kind of more complicated than people seem to be interested in dealing with.
