I suspect you missed the point entirely. My post was social commentary. It was directed towards the criticism of TMO's efforts (however honorable or pathetic). I simply stated that certain solutions become non-viable when the social setting reaches a certain level of animosity.

Whether or not TMO can lock down targets is completely irrelevant. What is relevant is the direction and nature of the dialogue.

Whats the point of social commentary if it has no relation to the current situation on the server anymore?

In this very thread, the notion of joint rotations/Endangered lists/etc. between TMO, FE, and others is discussed. My comments simply point out that if you bash someone, they're not going to want to talk to you. That is incredibly relevant to the discussion. Though my observations were strictly from within TMO proper, I submit very strongly that the general principle is applicable to the social dynamic of other guilds as well.

That is the relevance of my observation.

I hope this addresses your concerns. Though I suspect, based upon your previous language, that you are more interested in tearing down the concept simply because of its source as opposed to taking issue with its content.

It was never a question about equality, nor was it a question of what the mobs had, it was a question of having given up raid targets. The statement was that we hadn't, I have shown that we have. I have also shown how people pissed on us for doing so, which is why we stopped. BDA ALSO gave up mobs, not trying to discount their contribution in any way... they did it. FE has never tried, but claims that if we would, they would... we already have... they haven't, so trying to make that claim is false.

As for how we went about offering the mobs up to the server, why we did it, who benefitted, how long we did it for, and what mobs it was on... it doesn't matter

We haven't had a chance to even think about sharing mobs or giving other guilds attempts because you guys have been breathing down our necks since our guild was formed. Its come to stab you in the ass, though, because you made our raid force faster and stronger - thanks TMO for going head to head! Kudos on a job well done.

Moving on, you say you shared mobs and link posts about it. Timestamp check anyone? What's that? An entire year ago? I'm sorry, but your argument is weak. Was TMO sharing these mobs when going head to head with IB or any of the other raid guilds that were on top?

Our claim isn't false. Time frames matter. Guilds breathing down your neck since you attempt your first Trak ever matters. Like I've said countless times before:

We will keep showing up. We aren't going anywhere. See you next spawn.

There are cool people in TMO, Frieza. There's just also a lot of douchebags, but I think over time they won't be a problem. All guilds have douchebags - I'm sure there's plenty of TMO who don't like me, but I'm just fine with that. I love the hate. Mwuah!

My precedent? What precedent have I set? The precedent was set by CSR, and has been upheld by CSR. The GMs do not answer to you nor I, but apparently they feel it is an applicable precedent because they have followed it thus far. Xasten, this precedent was set with Xanthias and the Ranger epic, and has been upheld by GMs/CSR since its inception to the benefit of all raiding guilds, IB, TMO, and now it looks like FE and hopefully BDA got a wiz staff from Jarnuaga's post. I'm not saying the solution was right or wrong, but it does appear it has been fairly utilized and not to the benefit of one side over the other more than individual situations may merit.

Please put a post in the Server Chat section if you'd like to discuss this in a more civil environment.

First, I want to seek confirmation, even if it is from RnF before I open a larger thread. Secondly, I was hoping to defer specific discussion until I had such confirmation (or denial).

Suffice to say for now, I suspect Xanthias' situation is completely differentiated because express GM confirmation was given that he owned the SEoC in question. This created a liability on the GM's for one SEoC given authoritative statments detrimentally relied upon. In the present situation, it appears that no such confirmation was given. In effect, Xanthias' situation relies upon the doctrine of Promissory Estoppel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estoppel#Promissory_estoppel), whereas here no such assurances were made by those in authority with regards to the conjecturally duplicated guts.

Even if the above facts are not dispositive of the conflict, the situation in question was resolved by taking (wrongly perhaps under the estoppel theory) a later emerald as a substitute. If this concept were applied, FE would owe TMO a set of guts which (with TMO already having been reimbursed) would then see the GM's simply confiscate the "owed" drop.

I think the true issue is this happening in the past without recourse. I know it happened with Inny/VS when FC got him. There is no real solution aside from the FTE shout that I can think of aside from a GM intervention moments after the kill.

Why you so concerned over this incident? Isn't this just another case of who had FTE being to late and not who got to keep guts....

Trak is almost as bad as Dojo now.

I can see your argument that Xanthias' epic falls under estoppel and is not a good precedent for the other instances it has been applied to. But this is RNF, not Server Chat nor petitions/exploits.

I will repeat that this precedent, rightfully applied or not, has benefitted TMO as well. I doubt the VS wiz staff won by BDA was ever removed from TMO, which would lead to an expansion of the Xanthias' precedent to non-estoppel cases. If you feel the expansion of the Xanthias precedent is in error, I suggest you submit a petition.

Falkun you seem intelligent, so it surprises me that you would even attempt replying to frieza, when it is so very obvious what exactly it is he is attempting to do. Even mav picked up on it.

I must say freiza is usually right on about a lot of things, but the way he is going about this is the most weasly, and lawyer-like thing I have seen in a long time.

If he has such strong feelings and truly cares about conflict resolution in the future, I suggest he take his argument elsewhere and seek to go about it via other means.

Otherwise, he can keep casting his line. I hope nobody nibbles one way or another.

Xasten is arguing the Xanthias precedent doesn't apply here. I'm arguing its not for him to decide, and that if he is correctly lawyering about incorrect precedent, that a new, applicable precedent that hasn't been discussed does exist, and has existed to his guild's benefit before it possibly benefits FE in this case. I also reiterate he's barking up the wrong tree, again, because he still seems to be missing the memo.

My inquiry here has strictly been limited to asking a single question. As I said, I hoped to defer conversation into detailed points until I had my answer. By spilling my thoughts, I was simply responding to a point leveled at me.

(And, for the record, if TMO received a duplicated wizard staff it, in my opinion, should have been instead deleted, or as I cited, a deficit of one owed gnarled staff should be created.)

I do not agree that rightfully earned loot should be removed/owed because of illegitimately earned loot in the passed. I feel guilds/persons should be accountable for the crimes they commit, nothing more. What happens in the incredibly unlikely scenario where a guild doesn't get another Trak guts (in this instance) for many months, long enough that bards that attend this new guts Trak kill are there and none of the bards that attended the stolen guts Trak raid attend. These new, innocent bards are now held accountable for actions they did not help commit, and are deprived an epic due to an absent person. In my opinion, that is less fair than allowing the guts to exist for both parties from the stolen guts Trak. Similar to Blackstone's formulation.

He can do whatever he wants, as he seems to do that already regardless of what actually happens.

TMO can compare the encounter logs that Zeelot posted on their member boards with Zeelot's personal logs that are also there.

The server encounter logs timestamp does not match Zeelot's, so you must find a common occurance to equate them. When this is done, it is shown that Zeelot's timestamp is exactly 59 seconds ahead of the server encounter log timestamp. It is fairly easy to see at that point the story conjured is, well, lacking.

yes, because everyone knows that the server's time is directly linked to zeelot's computer's time.

Zeelots engage on the server encounter logs is the same engage of Trakanon that exist on his personal logs. These do not happen at separate instances, regardless of the nominal time-value attached to both.

As these events are simultaneously happening, this means that the server encounter logs and Zeelots logs can and must be matched. Once this match is made, the time-stamp difference is resolved and the events which happen in Zeelots logs can be matched to particular events in the server encounter logs at particular times.

2. When you cast Gather shadows on yourself, you are supposed to receive the following message, can someone confirm this: "You gather shadows about you." In Zeelot's log, this never occurs. His shadows fade, however he never cast the spell, and this is after being beat on for a number of seconds. Highlighted green.

3. If Merkk is a monk, I would have to double check, but uh... monks can't fizzle spells. Highlighted blue

From what I gather, unless Zeelot is doing some wierd stuff with his computer internal clock (slowing/speeding OS time for his machine), delay between actions shown in both his logs and server logs should have the same difference. And FE are saying it doesn't match (as if Zeelot logs say time to engage, and 6 seconds later takes a hit, server logs should show the same actions with a 6 seconds delta, adjusted by latency).

But I could be wrong, just trying to understand what this is all about.

On another matter, can a monk fizzle a spell? How is that possible? Using clickies, I guess can show interrupted, but fizzle? :confused:

The server encounter logs timestamp does not match Zeelot's, so you must find a common occurance to equate them. When this is done, it is shown that Zeelot's timestamp is exactly 59 seconds ahead of the server encounter log timestamp. It is fairly easy to see at that point the story conjured is, well, lacking.

I am not assuming anything. There is no other possible time for Zeelot to be added to the aggro list. The bolded below show when he logged on and when he got aggro on the jugg. Either that jugg was aggroed by running in from the ledge (hence the 'say' text that exists from people on the ledge) or it was the jugg near Trak and he logged into aggro. It is quite obvious he did not log into aggro from the timestamped logs below. Zeelot was put on the aggro list seconds after the jugg was aggroed.

Getting hit by a mob is not the same thing as being added to the aggro list.

You are completely assuming they are the same thing for your time-stamp analysis.

They were not awarded on possession or DPS done, else we would have been awarded last Trak before that.

They were awarded based on FTE. This FTE claim is falso, because Zeelots logs are completely inconsistent.

If Ele wants to continue to say that we cannot deduce when Zeelot gained Traks agro, we mineswell start saying we cannot deduce if we are actually reading words right now as well. there was a 3 second window within which he gained agro after aggroing that jugg, period.

The /em commands outputs everything following the first non-space character after the /em invocation and appends it to the string "[Character_name] ". Thus there will ALWAYS be a space between the character name of the player invoking the /em command and the output of the /em statement.

Zeelot's FTE claim all revolves around him DA tanking Trak AFTER a supposed FD by Option. Option tossed a Javelin at Trak and for some unknown reason is CLAIMED to have FDed (??) after Zeelot stood up - which is when Zeelot is CLAIMED to have DA idoled (both completely non-verifiable in Zeelots logs). This is why Option is first on the encounter log.

There is no FD by Option at this time; Option FDed about 30 seconds into the fight. It is not possible, as claimed by the conjuration of what may have happened in some alternate universe that granted TMO FTE, for Option to have done 538 damage with his Javelin. He indeed does 538 damage on his first entry in the server encounter log - hence it is impossible for him to have 'Javelin'd Trak and FD'd'.

Another issue, aside from all the other blatant inconsistencies, is that even IF Option Fded at this time...it would imply Zeelot DA tanked Trakanon while other people were engaged. TMO are indeed the most skilled players on the server if they can DA tank mobs while other people are engaged on those mobs.
