Not a fan of either, however, it isn't simultaneous possession when one player has the ball completely against their body and the second player only has an arm on it.

What was the spread of this game? Seahawks +3.5? And they were losing by 5? It looks like it shifted 150 million fucking dollars in bets according to ESPN. I am not saying this is what happened, but this is the same crew that fucked up the end of that redskins-rams game. If i was some shithole scab who gets paid 1/3rd of what the real refs get paid. Maybe I pull something that NBA ref got nailed for a few years ago.

Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 5 states:

Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers.

It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.
