 Whispers from the Crypt – A Project 1999 Event |

Across Norrath, the graveyards stir. Whispers rise on the autumn winds — names long forgotten, grief never laid to rest. The voices are not of the dead, but of one who mourns them still.
The Mourner calls.
Once a priest, now something far darker, he believes grief is memory, and memory must never fade. His design is terrible in its simplicity: to bind all sorrow into one vessel, a mortal who will carry the grief of all Norrath. Through this vessel, the veil between life and death will shatter.
But not all see this as salvation. To some, it is a curse beyond imagining — a world drowned in endless mourning, where no loss ever heals and no joy survives.
Two factions rise:- The Hand of Decay, who embrace the Mourner’s vision. To them, suffering proves love, and memory eternal is worth any cost.
- The Order of Stillness, who resist with equal fervor. To them, silence is mercy, and forgetting is the only true release.
The season of shadows has returned. Will grief endure, eternal and unbroken? Or will silence fall, final and absolute?
The choice, and the burden, belong to you.

Happy Season of Spooks and Frights, Norrathians!
“Whispers from the Crypt” is a P99 special event for this Halloween season! This event features multiple components through November 12th, sure to put a little extra spook in your step, including:
- Corrupted Body Parts have been unearthed by The Mourner and his minions, and will begin dropping from non-trivial kills across Norrath. These body parts can be turned into Emissaries of the Mourner, representing the Hand of Decay, or Penitent Cryptkeepers, representing the Order of Stillness. Either of these factions are sure to appreciate your support, as they hope to either embrace the Mourner’s suffering or let the dead finally rest.
- Characters who turn in at least 10 Corrupted Body Parts to one of the sides will be entered into a raffle at the end of the event for a temporary title on the character! However, be sure to pick a side and stick with it! For every turn-in completed for the opposite faction counts against your total.
- Two phases of the event, complete with a unique quest per phase. As the Mourner’s power grows and he gets more desperate later in the event, you may even see unique undead monsters brought to life across Norrath.
- On both the Blue and Green servers, the event will include a PvPvE showdown, where the Hand of Decay and Order of Stillness will face off, once and for all!
Prepare yourself, for the battle to let the dead rest is upon us, and only you can help determine the fate of Norrath!

The latest patch contains new required files. Download the new Patch Files from the top of the Home page, or the Getting Started Guide.
Container Adjustment
This patch contains changes to 'Tackle Box' containers that can affect your inventory items.
- Container Updates: Tackle Boxes are now classified as NODROP, and their weight has been substantially increased. Consequently, these containers may no longer be used for tradeskill combines. In their place, we've introduced a classic version of the container. These containers will replace the older ones in various aspects, including merchant lists and tradeskill recipes.
- Exchange Option: If you possess an existing Tackle Box, you have the option to exchange it for an era-appropriate counterpart. You may do this by trading it to a Priest of Discord in any city or a Shady Swashbuckler in East Commonlands.
Items Affected by these Changes:
- Tackle Box: Reduced from 6 slots to 4.
Here's what you need to keep in mind when making the exchange:
- Ensure that the container is empty of any items you want to keep.
- Exchange containers one at a time to avoid any complications.
- The CSR team will not reimburse any items lost due to failing to remove them from these containers.
These adjustments were necessary to prevent any unintentional item loss in the extra bag slots.

- Nilbog: Blocks of Velium Ore no longer drop from npcs.
- Nilbog: Rewrote 'The Lottery Ticket' quest to function properly.
- Nilbog: Tayla Ironforge spawns prior to [Apr2000].
- Nilbog: Flame Agate no longer drops.
- Nilbog: Imp Blood no longer drops.
- Nilbog: explorers no longer exist in lakeofillomen.
- Nilbog: Sandalwood isn't sold on vendors until [Apr2001].
- Nilbog: orc scoutsman no longer spawns.
- Nilbog: Intact Pygmy Brute Choppers may now drop.
- Nilbog: Corrected initial start locations of Iksars and Paineel Erudites.
- Nilbog: cobalt trigger fish are now trackable.
- Nilbog: an iksar tomb raider now spawns; 'The Tome Raider' quest now works.
- Nilbog: 'Message Intercept/Paladin Message' quests function much better.
- Nilbog: Tackle Box, Catch-A-Lot bait, Circle Hook, Dry Hook, and Treble Hook aren't sold until [Sep2000].
- Nilbog: Dirge of the ForgeFire, Pommel Mold, Hilt Mold, Dual-Edged Blade Mold, Heavy Steel Blade Mold, Spiked Ball Mold aren't sold until [Oct1999].
- Nilbog: Added missing fished items in certain zones: Bloodfin Trout, A King Cod Card. Removed: Salt Minnow.
- Nilbog: Tolkar Parlone, Trilani Parlone, Linara Parlone and a priest of najena do not spawn until [Oct1999].
- Nilbog: Morning Dew no longer drops from npcs. It may still be found by ground spawns and foraging.
- Nilbog: Add pathing grid to Broon.
- Nilbog: Obretl respawn time increased. Does not spawn until [Feb2000].
- Nilbog: The Widowmistress doesn't spawn until [Feb2000].
- Telin: Poachers in Toxullia now attack Kobolds.
- Telin: Adjusted reward for handing in Poacher heads into Gillarian Naelev in Surefall Glade.
- Telin: Removed singular goblin spawn off the SW coast of Butcherblock.

A Fish Tale - a P99 Event |

The lakes of Norrath are ancient, mystical, and full of secrets. But no tale is more powerful—or more suspicious—than those told by wandering adventurers about the one that got away.
This World Lake Day (August 27th), seek the mystical fish spirit at docks around Norrath and tell your best, boldest, most unbelievable fish tale! Did you nearly catch a kraken the size of Kelethin? Did a fish steal your boat? Or maybe you are the fish?
A mysterious aquatic spirit will judge each tale. The more outrageous, the better. But be warned—only the most entertaining stories will win the spirit’s favor. Have your stories ready, as we all know the attention span of a fish is!
Prizes and Rewards:
Story judged most ridiculous or creative wins a fishing themed item!
Participation is free, laughter is mandatory.

Supplemental Server Rules |

Greetings, fellow Norrathians!
In the spirit of simplifying rules and ensuring transparency, there is a new post in the P99 Library forum titled “Supplemental Server Rules.”
This post details a number of rules that have existed for a long while (previously known as “Player Agreements”), but which were scattered throughout the forums in multiple spots. These rules have not changed significantly, with the exception of two updates to align the rules between the servers.- The Ring 8 rule is now consistent between the servers, resulting in a change to blue regarding the roll timing during select server reset situations.
- The Scout roll rule is now consistent between the servers (a change to green, bringing the minimum level to participate to 46).
Our hope is that centralizing these rules in The Library forum will make them easier to reference in the future, as well as help provide new players to our servers an easy place to learn the policies they will be held accountable to while playing.
