I was thinking about old world mermaids more but SG ones would make more sense from a PC perspective.
Yeah, only reason why old world version seems out of place is due to the lack of legs, so no slot for greaves? As an ENC illusion, or clicky, it would have been neat for player-run events and Prexus followers. ENC should have had more illusions across the board, including aviak since the game all but promised as much to newbies with there being one below the Freeport caster guild.

Concerning non playable races with both sexes, I also see Djinns and... Brownies (I think?) as well as Coldain (although the later are not really considered in this thread since they are very similar to dwarves).
Ah right, more than a few female brownies in WL. Added bonus for not needing shrink pots ever, but good luck getting up the stairs in Kael. Class options could have been something like ROG, WAR, RNG, DRU, SHM, with ENC receiving the illusion.

Two versions for male Djinn exist, classic and Velious. Not sure why there wasn't a second version for females. Another oversight. They would have been badass to play as a monk or wizard. Not sure what other classes fit well with them though besides purecasters.

Coldain would have been cool, no pun, though probably with the same classes as regular dwarves, except maybe shaman? Since there are some Coldain guards with drakkel wolf pets.

Edit: Erudite ghosts!
It is odd that there weren't more ghost models to be found in Norrath. Even for the ghosts that do exist, sometimes there's only a male version (Dwarf, Coldain, Iksar), with Erudite being the sole exception? Which was an opportumity to give Erudite NEC and SHD the illusion as a spell or clicky.

Kerrans should definitely be rogues, but kerran monks?? Monk should have been available to Erudites. Worse stats than humans but it would allow a second option and they'd look awesome.

Erudites would have had the best monk fashion, even being able to wear Robe of the Azure Sky. In virtual world terms though, there are numerous Kerran monk NPCs and not a single Erudite TMK. That said, plenty of areas in Erudin where monk guild masters could have been placed. The grass lawn that leads to the teleporter platforms, just after the docks, or the craggy space alongside the inn; parkour to reach, safe fall back down to skill up.

It is indeed odd! Also I just found another mob with both sexes while fighting in Karnor yesterday: Iksar skeletons!

This is a fun game hahaha

Agree on erudite monks. 12/10 fashion and it would make sense with the whole Quellious thing.

Hmm yeah, quite a few m/f undead models actually, including vampires and zombies. Could be wrong but the female zombie uses same model as female human. Similar story with clockworks, same model as gnomes, with the OG king being a combo of both.

That would have been awesome if, similar to iksars, there had been more skeletons modeled after their living versions, with the added benefit of more undead targets for associated spells/procs. Skeletal snakes, wolves, werewolves, orcs, drolvargs, sharks, griffons, drakes, centaurs, etc. At least we got dragon skellies, along with trakanon, but damn would a fish dragon skelly have been terrifying. Meanwhile the undead cyclops has two eye sockets. /facepalm

Undead gnolls and frogloks are probably the best examples of the developers doing more with less creatively but, again, complete skeleton versions of both would have awesome.

Erudite monks could be brewing pacifists holed up in an alehouse - drink of course being forbidden in the rest of Erudin.
