Seriously, re-roll a useful raid character before it's too late.

All you need to raid is Warriors, clerics, monks, a shaman, and a few wizards. Maybe a mage mod rods. You can invite the rogues back after backstab is unfucked (lol)

Every other class is second rate at filling a spot that could go to a real tank, healer/buffer or DPS.

Edit: or go P99 style and invite 40 mages and just chain-pet the fucker down. Haha.

You're P bad at this game bro

Necro's are quite useful. Having a number of them means more healing and more daamage....granted you definately don't want them to be the bulk of your force, but having more than 3 on every raid is highly beneficial.

You can spam lifetap dragons or other aoe encounters, stay up and not need healing. Are you willing to trade 200-300 damage per cast for not needing heals (with good resists)?

For the players with any kind of forethought, "broken" classes will still be brought to raids so they can be geared for when they are fixed.

Your class's ability to kill fast chain pulling at solb pit/royals in no way dictates your class's overall usefulness and role. Many people here who've replied to the caster threads seem to think this.

There's a reason I don't think members of prominent raid guilds are discussing this actively here :P.

Yeah someone's head spun and exploded, I'm a bad multitasker poster.

There's some real truth to be found in there.

He means they heal others, not that they require more healing themselves...

To all the scrubs above:

Nah I'm not bad, I just realized that necros are a wasted raid spot if you have competent players and quit at 56 after spectating too many raids where my presence was completely extraneous. I now happily regularly contribute to a raid force as a contributory class.

Seriously, necros: do you truly enjoy bombing all your mana and HP onto OTHER RAIDERS, and being the 'oh shit button' to FD and /q when shit goes badly? Even then your job is to be the clerics bitch. Blow a 500+ pp essence emerald rezzing a cleric so the 'real classes' can get back up and the raid can continue? LoL Suckers.

Some of you should really try raiding with less batteries and more DPS. It's P awesome.

1) Your experiences, preferences, and opinions on a class and what is or is not enjoyable about it do not reflect the opinions of others, and some people may *GASP!* find something fun where you find no enjoyment at all. Such as being a mana battery, spot healer, and the like.

2) I can't remember a time in ANY MMO I've ever played where the cost of an ability (e.g., Essence Emeralds) or consumable (e.g., potions) was solely on the person playing the class and not up to the guild to help cover the costs of at least a few for raiding purposes only. If the guild isn't helping to front the costs of Sacrifices (or providing sacrifices themselves) and still expects the Necromancer to rez during a raid CR, then the guild is doing its own members a disservice, and it becomes less about "us", which is what a guild should be about.

3) Calling people "scrubs" because you have a differing viewpoint is both counter-productive to making your point, and immature. Why are such jabs at people necessary?

*ahem* At any rate, with the limited experience I had with raiding (PoFear for my Shaman epic, some Chardok raids), Necros were, as others have said, the "swiss army knife". Spot healing, ghetto mez, and mana battery to help make things smoother, while at the same time putting out some DPS through pet and Lifetaps. They're far from useless in a raid setting, IMO, but my experience is... limited. :P
