![]() Ye ofc em bloody paladins would have more bloody epic questings for epic flame-y ego weaponry. /bitter
There's a ton of cool unsolved stuff, like the Trumpy's Skull quest that involved Lord Grimrot somehow? Think the Chief Dooga spires in karanas + the similiar ruins near oggok entrance were meant to be a portal or something, and there's one of those letter L like zonelines inside Oggok, meaning that Oggok was meant to be connected somewhere to the north (probably Rathe Mountains or plains of karana judging from the map). Methinks alot of the quests were unsolved since it seems as if the devs had forgot to add any prompts on wth you're meant to do at times. Some qeynos quest for instance has an alternate path to complete it where you'd give a guy 2g to get the item you'd pick from erudin otherwisely, and I don't think there's any suggestion anywhere to toss him money, unless you found out about it from the quest guide in zam.

![]() Well after all this time its not for lack of trying on the community part.
They should just come out with the info on still existing unsolved quests. It would give people more things to do on live than count aa's. Even if the rewards are trivial.

![]() It would be cool if we could get into the original developers heads and somehow get a glimpse of what some of these old broken quests were supposed to look like, and why they never got finished. Were they too powerful and taken out? Did the scripts not work correctly? Did they just run out of time? I have a feeling that for most of them they simply ran out of time, and after EQ was released, they spent most of their energy on fixing bugs and working on Kunark rather than fixing old and broken quests that few people knew about.

![]() I think the quests are out there and working. There are SO many hidden keywords you find from just the subtlest of hints. Testament of Vanear quest is started from a hidden keyword by overhearring a bar conversation in qeynos. You have to really think deep for this stuff.
The high guard battle staff and HHK is the one item and place that holds the greatest mysteries. If you look on allakhazam, you see discussion -- they say quest is broken. then next year someone finds another clue and even a turn in, then someone says broken, and someone else finds another clue a year later. I think they're working :P What would be epic is if you could find a way to "reactivate" the old druid rings spread across norrath.

![]() Typically the 'unsolved' quests are broken, then reported, then possibly 'fixed' but years later.
Remember this is SOE classic, whose attitude was "yes we heard you, no it's not broken"...*cough*alchemy*cough* While I'd like to believe there are still some undiscovered quests, my money is on they are broken/incomplete. Who knows for sure on P1999.

![]() Sadly on p99 you will only find quests that have been completed at least once and confirmed/posted online somewhere, since it's that type of research that the devs used to write the quests for this server.
But yes, I bet on live there are still all sorts of things that have not been discovered. As cool as it would be if it were true I doubt activating unused druid rings or anything quite so big would result from them (basically because zoning at the time involved spells, item clicks or verbal interaction with an npc) but even unlocking some more lore that nobody has ever seen before would be neat.

![]() Very early on there were some npc's that were added for GM event turn ins. Whenever you completed a GM event the GM's would give you a coin, and you went to your respective city (or one you're not KoS in) and turned it in for a very nice random item. There were about 50 items or so that could be given.
A couple of years later, through boredom I started killing random npc's in cities just to see what kind of factions were around. I ended up killing a few of those special npc's and one of them in particular actually had all the loot that could be given on him! He would drop 2-3 at a time, had a respawn time of 2 hours, and again, a possible loot table of about 50 items. Most of them were no drop, some were artifacts, and for a classic to velious timeline they would be very good, not as good as velious raid gear on most items, but some would definitely be close. On p99 I've seen at least 3-4 of those npc's, but alas, the one that actually dropped stuff is missing. Even if I did point out that it is missing, I doubt the dev's would actually spawn him knowing how overpowerful that loot is for our timeline. But I think it falls into what the original poster was talking about and I thought I'd share this bit of info. cheers!

![]() Blixkin Entopop in Misty Thicket used to hint at another quest after you gave him his box of bug parts. I was never able to get him to speak further about it, however he did talk about the Terrorantula.

![]() Theres some item off a named elephant in SK. Gnarledtusk or something drops it. I got it a month ago but ended up vendoring it because nobody knew anything about it. I think the most info I got on the item was that it was a container for making rogue poisons or something.

![]() It would be nice if on live they made a list of the unfinished or broken quests. Or could at least confirm certain quests. Would be nice to see what was intended for the Tome of Ages.
