You are being very defensive for no reason.

There are a proportional amount of dbags and assholes on both servers, no one has ever said otherwise.

Swish is saying that on red, you can just slay the dbags and there is no issue. You don't have to wait for a gm to come and suspend the wrong party by accident.

Actually Swish has a long history of trashing blue to try and make red look better. And yah you 'could' just trash to group...or another group could get lvl 60 buffs and come and trash you and then you are even worse off. Thats the truth. It sounds nice to say "oh, on red you just kill them!" But the reality is a bit different.

You just dispell their buffs.

At the end of the day, if YOU don't want to pvp, stay on blue, no one is trying to make YOU do something YOU don't want to do.

If you want to try something new, not wait in lines, solve disputes without getting accidentally deathtouched by sirken because the other guy said his piece before you, etc...

You are getting offended over nothing, and arguing on points that you have no idea about.

The events you described are rare.

Fungi twinks are even super rare now, I think it's just Jewcy nowadays and he is only ever in Mistmoore, which should be avoided anyways because there are way better places to xp in that range.

I can see dying to a fungi twink while you're learning being annoying, but after a few pvp encounters you learn to realize that they aren't actually scary at all and generally aren't able to kill you unless you do something dumb (which you will while learning)

Once you learn how to play everquest, it's not problem.

Im pointing out that swish is fluffing the truth and trashing blue in the process. Yes Red can be a good place but its not as easy as oh just kill them. And yah, 'surely' a buffed twink wouldnt be ahead in the fight while you are dispelling him. trash buffs and such. Stop fluffing the truth about red. Just tell it like it is. its not hard.

You seem to think that there is only one zone in Everquest, which is fine. But you're wrong.

People don't get "trashed" nearly as often as you think, and it's generally because they just stand there and let it happen.


I definitely think anyone with this kind of defeatist attitude will have a terrible time on red.

Your first argument is that swish is a jerk, cool I agree, let's ignore that.

Your second argument is that you get rekt by twinks trying to level repeatedly which completely false, but a common fear that is reinforced in potential new players by way of confirmation bias in these types of threads.

I never said it was repeatedly. I was just using his example in a different way. Its easy to say a situation is great when it works out in your favor. I was just pointing out that there a different side. and i think a worse side.

P.S. I dont see how im making shit up. Is it not possible for one group to wreck another after being buffed by high lvl players? I have played on red and it was a ghost town, but ive heard people talk about stuff like that ingame and on these forums.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to hate on Red, but it's just that PvP in any MMOG, and especially one with as much power asymmetry as Red, is going to attract more assholes (proportionally) than a non-PvP server.

Why? Because asymmetrical PvP by its natures attracts griefers, and griefers are (by their nature) assholes. I'm not saying all PvP players or all Red players are griefers, I'm just saying an environment where you can grief people easily attracts more griefers than an environment where you can't.
