Check back in on New vegas, let me know if its worth a buy after you have given it a few sessions.

Sick of buying games only to find out its a console port and hard to play/bad on your fingers without a XBOX controller.
New Vegas is absolutely amazing. Fallout 4 is meh and gets a lot of well-deserved criticism, but New Vegas was developed by an entirely different company and I think they did a really good job with it. Definitely worth picking up while on sale.

New Vegas is fun but I've been logging my hours today on Civilization 5. I think it's my best purchase of this sale.

Hmm going to need a controller for New Vegas, as all the menus are designed for console as is most of the GUI mechanics... its been very taxing to a PC user.

Whats the best option?

Whats this steam link controller?

Xbox will be coming out with a Bluetooth enabled XB1 controller soon. I'd wait for that or if you prefer PS4 controller can go that route. As someone who uses a trackball mouse you would think that the steam controller would fit right in but for playing games i couldnt get use to not actually having a joystick for my right thumb. So returned that.

I picked up Deus Ex, Fallout: New Vegas, and Civilization 5. Got my ass kicked on Deus Ex because I don't know what i'm doing. Tried Fallout and had a much better time. This game is polished.

Has anyone tried out the steam controller? My mouse can't seem to get the right callibration for gaming, i'm thinking of getting it.
Go hardcore mode on New Vegas! Prove your metal!

Yeah and I don't see the prob with keyboard/mouse at all with fallout. I've never used a controller with it, but I have with skyrim a little (out of some 700hrs in skyrim lol), and never had an issue using key mapping to do what the trackball (ball on top types I use) couldn't.

I'm liking the long dark. Got about 10hrs in so far. On my third start, 6th day based out of camp office at mystery lake. First start, didn't make it a day, eaten by lovable wolves. Second start, died in the lookout tower of dysentery lol second day. Boil that Canadian water, aye!I Game needs beer. haven't used any maps yet. Game's crazy, runs really good too. Determined to master Timberwolf Mountain. Game reminds me of um the hunters guild mod for skyrim, best mod there.

The Steam controller is pretty different from a normal controller. Normal controllers usually have a D-pad and two joysticks. The Steam Controller has a D-pad, only one joystick, and a trackpad.

The idea is that the Steam controller lets you play games where you'd normally want a mouse (like Civ) by providing a trackpad. The problem is the trackpad works really poorly at simulating a mouse. And because the Steam controller doesn't have two analog joysticks, it's basically unusable for games where you need two joysticks (like Rocket League or Dark Souls).
