I dont really understand why Sirken supported FTEing a mob in a certain zone and then leaving it up to contest somewhere else and be able to kill at your leisure.
But he did. Going for another mob should forfeit any other currently active FTE but /shrug.

I think he most likely made a ruling based on limited and/or flawed information, in a game that he doesn't currently play or have extensive knowledge of. Listening to portions of the raid summit podcast, I noticed that he didn't know what zone Yelinak is in. That's not to bash him at all... just to give some perspective. When a judge has limited knowledge and possibly bad or falsified evidence, it's more understandable to see a completely baffling and incredulous ruling like this. The alternative explanation is much less palatable, given Sirken's repeated use of the mantra "follow the spirit of the rules" above all else.
Seems like people are a little too worked up over it, though. I mean, these kinds of shenanigans are the standard on this server and have been for years. Aftermath implicitly warned the rest of the server in the raid discussion thread that if they didn't clarify the time limit to engage after the foot race FTE, it would be exploited. It was argued over and no resolution was reached, so they exploited it. Nothing surprising at all here, except for the fact that Sirken backed them up. And he could always reexamine that ruling with a more complete set of facts, and change his mind.
