You made the effort to post on a forum dedicated to recreating Classic EQ (which it does). There are LOTS of new and returning players.
By your own admission, modern MMOs do not capture the EQ feeling. Although it is daunting starting out again, it's exciting because there are so many lowbies playing. The original spirit is very much alive. The vast majority of us have more responsibilities and less free time than before. However, there is no rush. Take your time and enjoy the journey.
