![]() The problem is the game, not the server (although I'm sure the many years of Kunark hasn't helped). Red's prices may be a little higher than Blue's because of their lower population, but even having 20-30% of Blue's population only results in a 30 plat or so difference in price.
The core issue is that in the classic era ALL tradeskills are worthless, with only a few exceptions (a couple pieces of jewelry, 10-slot backpacks, and a few potions; maybe a few other items if you're generous). Because there are so few marketable tradeskill items every tradeskiller and their brother makes those items, and basic economics tells you that too many sellers = race to the lowest price possible. Because of that, you can't fix SoW potion prices with a player-run cartel. The only thing that will help a little is Velious (which introduces a few new decent tradeskill items, eg. tailored armor) and some imaginary future custom content. But other than that, complaining about tradeskills not making money in (classic) EQ is like complaining about not being able to create a home in the game: yes empty buildings exist, but nothing will ever let you own a home in EQ because the game was never designed to allow it. Likewise, classic EQ was never really designed for tradeskills to be meaningful. They were seen as much more of an RP thing, which came out of EQ's MUD origins.

![]() So if it only costs 63 plat to make why is asking 90 plat (a hefty markup) such a problem? By the way how much does it cost to recharge a 10 charge SOW potion?

![]() `why is asking 90 plat....... such a problem?`
all it achieves is to shit on your fellow shms. Stops them building revenue to make the more expensive combines and hence gain skillups. In practice revenue also comes from other sources, farming drops etc DOnt think there are mob dropped herbs in velious? Not till chardokv2 do any appear,a s far as i recall.* There is no real point in trying to start a price war on sow pots. It wont achieve anything useful. rough guess of alchemy cost,to raise.... 1-50 3k (assuming you max it at guild master) 50=100 8k 100-125 5k 126-150 5k 150+ 8k ? all depends on having wis over 200 for less fails. These are guesstimates, am not anal enough to have recorded it all on paper! Maybe someone can come up with a more accurate figure? *should bring down cost of gate potions!

![]() I dont see why this would be a strange thing, it is just basic capitalism? As supply increases and demand stays static price goes down and this is not only for SoW potions but for any sellable item or service (such as Rogue epic MQ) in the game.

![]() Frankly, we should just sell them at cost, blow up the market completely and drive away the undersellers. Then we can start over again when the dust settles.
