I leveled a Mage to 38 and started getting A LOT of these crashes...no warning no error no nothing...so I switched to necro...still happens but atleast while fear kiting you have enough time to LD out before the mobs rapes you...Now if I could only get all the bone chips and weapons I gave my pet back that I lost due to this stupid bug. BTW Never happens on my main (cleric) maybe it happens more to pet classes?

Interesting theory, though I don't think I've noticed any class disparities with it. I don't play any pet classes, but it seems to happen with about the same frequency on my shaman (my main) and my wizard (my alt). I've had it happen on a bunch of other characters too, I just haven't played other characters for as long.

I pretty much never crash. I've gone weeks without disconnections or crashes.

I can't say for sure if it's definitely a client side issue though. The string not founds being huge negative number makes it seem like theres some memory corruption going on in the client somewhere.

EQ is alive and It's AI is so good that it will crash the game if it has to. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Sometimes I crash when I'm playing mario kart and I slip on a banana peel.

I enjoyed this way more than I should have.

Default Crash

Had it happen on each of my machines...
-- Dell e6400 (4gb, Intel 4 series, 7200RPM SATA, Win7).
-- Dell Precision (12GB, Nvidia 220 series, SSD, Win7).
-- Homegrown (Gigabyte MB, 12GB, Nvidia 9800GT 1GB, SSD, Win7).

No rhyme or reason. Two of the installs were independent, one was copied after the eqemulator setup instructions. I originally was changing comps to try and figure out the lag issue in Sol B, but the maxframerate fixed this.

FYI: North Karana!

A Level 37 Druid - even with crappy gear - should never die in N Karana.

They got me every second day and I don't even can enjoy the show. It don't load if I try to zone. After a "warm start" and rebooting the client, I usually log in naked at my bind point.

I gave up. Account was going to a friend.

Have fun.

Cheers

I had it on 60 and still had problems like you, so I dropped it down to 45 on account of someone elses recommendation and the crashes stopped. That might be the magic number or it may have been one hell of a fluke. 45 is more than enough for EQ to run smoothly, anyway, so maybe give that a shot?
I did this, and so far I haven't crashed in 3 levels. I'll report back in a few more levels to see if this is still so.
