To the adult mind, however... it's dumb as shit. Men being payed millions to move a football around, while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. I look at it now like Christmas - it's for the children - not us.
I've never had an issue with the salaries. If a group of Walmart workers could get 50000 people to watch them work, pay $200 a pop, have their work televised by major networks. If spectators clamored to own Walmart employee shirts so they could emulate their favorite bed & bath worker.. they would make a ton more money as well.

Oh, and I'd rather the players get the money than the owners, who would be pushing prices as high as they could get people to pay either way.

At least that engages you - there's interaction. It's not spectating.

With how seriously people take their spectating these days, I think we should make spectating a sport itself. Then we can have people spectating the spectators.

I just played pickleball for 3 hours. It was my third time actually playing (a single learning session too) and already I'm in the top 20% among 40 players.

I played football for 6 years (and started every year except my first) so the not athletic thing doesn't really hold any merit! I just think the NFL is for morans.

If you want to look at it from what most of us probably are, middle men, it does sound angering to say "These men are getting paid millions to toss around a football."

But if you say, "These men are getting paid millions for incredible prestige in certain skills, brutal workouts, and a massive boost, consisting of at least 1/5th the population(guesstimate), to entertainment on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday." It isn't so bad. Especially considering a lot of these individuals turn around give back to their community. Some live luxuriously, some live luxuriously because the fans treat them that way.

Let me cite this as well...

"College Career
Unlike major professional sports such as baseball and ice hockey, which draft and sign players from high school, football players must play college football for at least three seasons or be out of high school for at least three years before being eligible to play in the NFL. Players who believe they are ready to succeed as a professional after their junior years in college will often declare themselves ready for the NFL Draft. Others will remain in school for their senior years. To be eligible for the draft without having spent four years in college, a player must receive special permission from the NFL."

The above would be an explanation as to why some brutes are attending college without having to do much... It is because they aren't going for a degree that is as conditioning as a lot of us would have chosen for our specific fields of interest. Its more of a gamble if anything for most of these men that choose to aim for playing in the NFL.

Also, although they make a lot of money, not all NFL players are getting paid millions. Some get paid as low as 200k a year. But most teams, if not all, still average above a 60 million dollar salary.

Don't know why I felt like expressing a defense, because I agree, but considering the entertainment business is as big an industry as we have in the U.S., you have to look at the facts and reasoning.

It's somewhere between tennis and ping pong. For those of you too retarded to google it, it's played on about half a tennis court and has a tennis net that is 2 inches lower. Players use wood or carbon-fiber paddles that are about double the size of a ping pong paddle, and a hard whiffle ball. It is played doubles only - service must go cross-court like in tennis, and you're not allowed to volley the return. The nature of the game really encourages net-play, however there's an area adjacent to the net on both sides a couple feet long called "the kitchen" that you are not allowed to step in unless the ball bounces in it - you must then remove yourself from the kitchen before a return is made. Scoring is similar to volleyball in that you can only get a point when you are serving.

I've only played it a few times now but I'm hooked. What's awesome is that even fat 80-year-old women can be decent at it if they can move just a little and got the skills.
