Got up at 6:30am for a “warrior yoga” class as a guest to this rich friend of mine’s $200/mo gym, one of the fanciest in the state

Damn was that gym nice and damn do I suck at yoga. I told him same time next week until I can get this shit down. Also got to go to this fancy breakfast place and he comps it as a work expense since we talk about the BH field. Free good food and a workout F yea

Seems like they did really nice work for the price. Very happy to still be contributing to the economic welfare of people living in my state. Working with their hands. It's the best thing that you can do with your life.

Signed a purchase agreement on 4 acres outside of town, only DSL available. Pole Barn, chicken coop, established fruit trees, maple trees, good soil and deer aplenty.

Lol well to her credit she didn’t grow up with the cousin. The brain doesn’t recognize blood relatives, it associates family with proximity. This is why adopted siblings from different parents who grow up together still get positioned in each other’s minds the same as biological siblings with the same parents: as a sibling first and only

I noticed the same thing happen with me personally with my step cousin. She was the daughter of someone who married my aunt. But from about age 13 onwards she was at every family party and outting, and my brain just associated her the same as my bio cousins. I had friends after my aunt divorced her dad mention “dude your step cousin is really hot, she’s not your cousin by blood and they aren’t even married anymore, you should ask her out”. But my brain just didn’t see her as a romantic possibility from having grown up together

Anyway long story short proximity growing up together is what positions people as family in the brain, more than blood

Sounds funny, zen, mindfulness. You're one with the bow, target, arrow...! Picture everything in your minds eye. Acknowledge judgment and go back to mindfulness observing every detail. Save picturing the arrow in its bullseye and aiming for that very last moment.

You can of course practice mindfulness without the bow or arrow at all at other times. Observations... mindfulness. Awareness. When judgments or thinking intrudes, just acknowledge your thought (i thought about writing a letter). And move back to sensing your environment, or a specific object.

Sounds silly it works! Especially shooting. Calmness and emptiness. There's a reason people are trained not to anticipate the trigger pull.

You may just need a lot more practice though. I used to draw a heavy compound that I was barely able to manage. The only thing you can do then is get as much practice firing until your able to draw easily.

Client today was asking if I saw the spirits on her wall that were saying they came from hell and were torturing her dog. I had to tell her no that all I saw was all the damage she had done to her apartment wall from throwing various things at the spirits (but said in a nicer way). They gonna take her to the cleaners when she tries to move out…

Like all psychotic people, she refused any form of mental health treatment and said she had already contacted a priest from a church with the request to come to the home and bless away the spirits, and that she was waiting for a call back. I wondered if any of these church priests are kind enough to actually be doing this, and if they start to wonder why all the requests to bless away spirits come from people who look like emaciated illegal stimulant users in very dirty, dingy apartments :/

She put me on offlelable antipsychotics to "help with insomnia ", upped the dose and a few months later after my neurochemistry changed and I started getting serotonin toxic...

The lady needs a safe place to live. Maybe you should change society though because you, yourself can't help her alone without the cooperation of others.

One time I did, only once, 10 years ago. It was a call from the fire department, a lady in her 50’s (so a bit early for onset dementia) with no mental health or substance abuse history went screaming to her neighbor’s home for support

She claimed she was watching a religious tv channel as she usually does that time of night, and all of a sudden a picture on her wall moved/tilted over and a lamp fell over. She was too terrified to go back in and was insisting that myself or the fire department people make sure whatever it was, was gone. She was picked up by her family and went to stay with them that night, and as much as I wanted to check it out, we didn’t go in because we’d be in there alone and that isn’t something you generally want to do to even with permission to protect against any possible accusations of theft

But from someone who looks like they’ve been using meth for the past 10+ tears? Or someone at the age for onset of a psychotic DO, no I do not believe them that what they are experiencing is supernatural. But that’s delicate to explain to them. I tell them I believe that they are truly experiencing seeing or hearing what they say they are experiencing

Tried cross country Nordic skiing for the first time. Looks a lot easier than it is. No edge on the ski is weird! Managed to make it around a 10k loop in about two hours and was starting to get the hang of it by the end. Watch for me in the next Winter Olympics!

My lunch was amazing tho. Scratch made hummus, spring greens. 1 Matza sheet. An small artichoke heart cut in halfs. And two dates.

Keep the portions small and soon your stomach will shrink in response and that will help with the horrible empty, hollow, hungry all day ache. At least that’s what I notice when trying to drop fat. Takes a few weeks of hell and then the stomach shrinks and it becomes more comfortable. Maybe for you it already happened

Oh, another cool thing that happened today. I make custom hand made walking sticks, I've currently got like 15 of them lined up outside my apartment door. I had an elderly couple come knock on my door and ask about them, I let them pick out one for each of them. I wanted to just give them to them freely but the man insisted on paying, to which I said "I understand, that's me too"

The interaction was incredibly positive, I made 2 new friends in my apartment complex, and I helped people who really will benefit from my hard work. Feels really good man.

I walk in the woods near where I live, find a good candidate for a walking stick. Cut that down, trim any branches off with my saw. Then I get my knife out and "skin" the stick, remove all the bark. Let that dry for about 2 weeks, then it's on to the sandpaper. Every stick I make probably has 3-4 hours of sanding put into it. Then totally get the stick completely dry (hopefully it doesn't crack, sometimes it does). Then stain it a good color and there you go.

Here's an example of my own personal stick, I made this thing about 4 years ago and she's still kicking. But it's become a hobby of mine. In the past year I've probably turned out about 40-50 sticks.

First time I did it, i was like eh, until the 3rd deeeeeeep hit, at which point I literally went through the white light people see when they die and the entire universe unraveled in front of me and I saw god.

I basically was "not lucid" like I was definitly not capable of any type of human interaction whatsoever. But in my mind I was flying around through a giant canyon watching something show me how the universe is manufactured in front of my eyes constantly.

Id dip in and out of lucidity, ask someone, "am I alive?" they go yes... then Id go "ok, then roll my eyes back in my head and basically lay there while everyone think I was dead, but I was like zooming around the universe in paradise.

then after like 5 minuets I stayed in reality and it wore off over the next 15.

My words when I came back to lucidity were. "If that is what happens when you die, we are not ready for it until we are dead. I never want to go back until its my time. Im done worrying about what the afterlife is. It's real, and we're not ready for it as mortals."

That feeling of euphoria and peace lasted like 6 months.

Try it again, go in with this plan: I want to overdose on DMT - you won't, but you'll do the amount needed to kill your ego!

Yeah that def didn’t happen. Maybe my buddy got some bad stuff. It seemed to burn way hotter than even weed so I couldn’t hold the smoke in my lungs. Overall very anti-climactic, maybe more tests are needed

I think that’s the edible kind, like if you do it at one of those shaman retreats in a 3rd world country.

But if you smoke it (you can make it in your kitchen takes a week or so and makes you feel like a breaking bad character) it’s like a 5-10 minuet version of what I assume people experience over like the course of an hour if they eat it.

I've got into CBD recently. CBD flower (aka roll a joint and smoke it) and CBD gummies.
Guys, if you have any kind of joint inflammation or muscle aches this helps a lot.
Also, it really helps with sleep. I generally take 2 10mg gummies before bed and the sleep I've gotten since I started using this has been amazing. Sleep latency and sleep quality.

I still smoke real deal THC weed throughout the day, for recreation or before/after exercise or skateboard sessions.

The CBD products are a little pricey, but imo it's money well spent. Even if just for the sleep, 100ish bucks a week on cbd to sleep 2-3x better. Yeah I've got that 100 bucks.

My ma dumped off a basket of spinach leaves which at first I was like dammit how am I gonna force these down. Yeah I saw enough of improvement to joints to re-up and get a second tub. Normally my right knee used to give me some problems occasionally when doing heavy squats at the gym, and both knees if I didn’t step perfect hiking down my weekend mountain hike would ache. That has been greatly reduced to the point of being gone (the caveat is that my legs are continually getting stronger which may be playing a role as well)

I’ve been training harder than ever, best shape ever in life, but I started taking a LOT of stuff to help recover. You don’t have to do nearly this much if you’re not planning on doing 2hours workday 4 hour off day workouts like I have. Here’s what I runnin now tho

I was goofy footed, right foot at the back, pushed with my left.

That's mongo pushing. Proper skating is the front foot in the middle/front of the board and you push with your back foot. The back foot is either pushing, or chilling out on the back of the board.

If you are pushing and then that foot goes to the front of the board, you are skateboarding incorrectly.

When you're pushing, and the foot that is on the board is in the back, you are not in control of your skateboard.

A right handed person typically rides with their left foot in the front of the board, kicks with their right.

To practice switch riding, I would ride on a gentle slope, balancing on my right foot with it at the front of the board. The foot at the same angle my left foot was when I was kicking with the right.

I would coast down hills with only 1 foot on the board training myself to use that foot for weight bearing and balance. Then started kicking with the left foot after a time.

You get decent at it after an hour or so.

Some of the living fees are higher here but over all life is less expensive. It's your choice where you live. Move if it is too expensive there.

My chest has always been naturally big, so to tell ya the truth I did a body re-composition where I completely stopped lifting chest (other than some light cable stuff for definition) for weeks at a time to make it atrophy, and switched up to doing shoulders and upper back 3x/week instead of 2x. Wanted chest to come down and shoulders to come up. Took a few months but much more proportional now

I honestly only bench like 1 set every 2-3 weeks. If someone saw me and was like “lookin jacked, how much you bench bro?” I’d have to tell the truth, maybe 2 plates on each side for like 3 reps. Maybe. I have a progressive (only liberal I ever met who lifts) co-worker who is just a weekend warrior going to the gym only 1 day a week on the weekend who can bench more than me. The drivetrain one expired last June, but there's this whole class action lawsuit brewing over these CVTs failing on my Rogue and a few other models. Part of that lawsuit is extending the warranty to 84k miles. I am at 57k at the moment. I'm no mechanic but a transmission croaking at 57k seems a bit early.

I had a new off the lot 2003 Chevy S10 5sp for over 16 years, on the original clutch. The head warped in the 16th year due to an overheat one summer. 170k miles, could have ran easily to 250k+ without issue if I had bothered to put a few dollars into more proper maintenance.

My current commuter.. oh boy, my wallet filed a domestic assault case. I only take it to the best Honda dealership in the area, that has been here for a very long time. I pay the dumb bills for absolute correct service.

Note: It is second owner, shipped in from Texas (I wanted a specific year model with low miles). The previous owner couldn't drive a manual worth shit, $2,700 (Edit: trans service was $1300, I had other work done that day it required) to have the trans serviced at 56k miles. They had destroyed the clutch, granted the stock "noob friendly" honda clutch system is ass ran over in the summer, I have never understood why its in their premier performance option for this model that only comes with a short-ratio 6sp.

Since the six-speed manual transmission is sadly no longer offered, we'd select an Accord with the optional 10-speed automatic since the only other option is a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). That leaves us looking at the Sport model with the optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Looks like you will have to do the same thing I did if want you this specific setup, find the year, color, options, miles, history, price. /shrug, that sucks they killed it.

But that would be a good car for your situation, the 10 speed auto is the option over the CVT which are having issues. Maybe check up on the history of the 10spd that is being offered, see if its reliable.

Edit: The older models had the optional, naturally aspirated V6 "Earth Dreams" iVtec. This is the 2013 model, same year as my Si.

My psychologist said that I am doing good today. She was happy to hear about all of the progress I made. Same, there will never be another Khabib but Khamzat’s the next best thing. Islam Machichev is also worth mentioning, esp since he’s related to Khabib and Khabib is his coach. But Islam will never be as exciting a fighter as the Chechen Khamzat partly because of Islam’s reserved milktoast personality

Yea they are expensive, especially in this supply chain. Back in the day they used to sell for 2:1 ratio of price per lb. Nowadays it’s more like 3 or 4:1 ratio

Yeah there’s some supps that have no downsides and have been proven to work, and creatine and glutamine are two of the biggest in that category

The mechanism of action I am not scientific in: I believe creatine in particular helps the muscles retain water, which they then convert to ATP energy. So it helps with the action of lifting weights

Glutamine I believe helps with the body using protein to build muscle, more with recovery

Yeah the only downside to creatine is, because of the water retention, which is mostly in muscle but not completely confined to them, it can cause a slightly bloated look

So if you notice in a few days wtf have I gained fat?? Don’t be alarmed it’s just water weight from the creatine. You can stop taking it for a few days to lose the water weight whenever you want to dry out, like before an outting where you know you’ll be shirtless or something. But I’ve personally been on creatine for years, never needing to stop

Starkind, that's an excuse mindset. I've played the guitar 25 years, I was very blessed to be introduced to it by my uncle when I was 12 years old. I do admit there is such a thing as a natural aptitude towards certain things. Some will be good at drawing, music, this, that, the other. I also have many other "talents", things that people see me do and say "wow, I wish I could do that"

I used to get in endless natural talent vs hard work debates with my high school friends regarding sports. I had one who was talented at baseball, enough to walk onto varsity as a sophomore, who practiced only the minimum, and would harp about talent being just as important as work

In psych we are trained that it’s better to validate work than talent or “born-with” gifts, especially with kids. If a kid gets a good grade, validate with “Wow you musta studied hard for that, good job!” Rather than “Wow you are really bright!” Because one sets up a path to improvement, and the other sets up a barrier where the kid might think they’re not smart enough, or as smart as they thought, when they inevitably get a bad grade

I came up with a new hobby over the weekend. I cut out slips of paper and write "Jesus saves!!" on them. I'll leave the house with about 20-30 of them in my pocket. I hand them out to anyone who is receptive and tell them to read it. Here's the kicker, I also tell them to give it to someone else. Spread the fire.

If you don't follow Christ you could also do this hobby by just writing "I love you" on the slips. If you try this out I guarantee you'll feel good.

Within 30 minutes of arriving I’m drunk off homemade palinka and helping her dad and the drunk neighbor friend butcher a freshly slaughtered and skinned lamb carcass. They had me hack the head off with a hatchet. I’d post photos but it’s pretty brutal. Eastern Europe is crazy. Dinner tomorrow should be pretty good though!

Didn’t see anything out of the ordinary on the 2.5 hour drive from Bucharest to Braila. Not a single military vehicle. Talking to her parents here no one really seems worried at all here. Wouldn’t have even known there was a war next door.
