Default No particle effects showing at all

Hi everyone [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I've been having a lot of fun on this server, but just recently realized that none of my spells have *any* effects at all. I still see the casting animations and I still see the 'getting hit' animations, but the actual particles haven't shown up at all.

My display options don't impact this at all, even after playing with all the options and sliders and removing the spells files as suggested in a few of the similar threads in this forum regarding spell effects didn't help any either. Is there any other element that may be causing this that I can try? Reinstalling is something I'd much rather not have to do, but it's looking as if that may be the only option.

Has anyone else run into a similar problem? If so, did you manage to fix it? *hopeful*

okay, so, you're going to need two things which are spellfiles. Check which ones you have, you need two and they are "Spellsnew.eff" and "spellsnew.edd" Tell me which one you have and then give me your email so i can email you the other.

Try /showspelleffects on, took me forever to figure out why mine weren't showing either, totally forgot about this command.

This was it! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Somehow my spell files were missing and luckily they were still sitting somewhere on this machine. I put the two you mentioned back into the Everquest folder and I finally have my spell effects back [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] [You must be logged in to view images. Thank you for your suggestion also Fromage, I had tried that one also, but without the files in place it couldn't toggle anything [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You're both great, see you in game [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Awesome! If you download "eqemu launcher" from http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/EQEmuLauncher You get super close to the true "classic" graphics.
