![]() When charming pets how much of a difference does giving your pet weapons make, and if it does make a difference do the weapons themselves make a difference, like would rusty be just as good as fine steel ?

![]() it makes a difference as a dual wielding pet will do it properly (like a warrior).
Rusty and fine steel will do the same damage, but if you feed your pet nothing but the best thenvtry and get some gnoll hide lariats from Paw or something (stun proc). If you find you only have 2h weapons available, the pet will usually refuse them, but put a torch in his offhand (yeah, like we carry those around) and he will then use it but it won't be as efficient as a dual wield [You must be logged in to view images. ![]() I could be wrong but i heard delay of a weapon matters for CHARMED pets? On my mage I often get asked for dagger summons because its the fastest ( while the dmg doesn't matter, the delay does?) Maybe an Enchanter can shed light on this point

![]() Don't know that any stats on the weapons you give a charmed pet matter apart from procs.
And giving a pet weapons makes a very big difference at high levels, and a still significant difference at lower levels. A level 45-50 mob quads a surprising amount of the time. Weapons + haste make a level 50 mob do better damage than a level 60 rogue player.

![]() Literally some pets will be hitting for 120+ when enchanters reach the mid-50s...
If enchanters duo with a cleric, you can keep the pet hasted with 2 nice weapons and just CH when he gets low. The only downside is that if charm breaks the cleric needs to be alert to it quickly. My strategy would be to try and catch a bored mage in the EC tunnel and ask him if he'd mind summoning 4-8 weapons for a decent donation [You must be logged in to view images. ![]() is it the best just because of the stun proc or cause of damage. for me the stun proc wouldnt matter as i just snare and fear the mob.

![]() there is probably only 1 or 2 weapons in game that can improve pets natural dmg.
But those also tend to be insanely expensive cause they are high end player weapons. Otherwise its all in the proc. And if your pet is chain procing Stun - imho its awesome.

![]() I was wondering if there are level restrictions on what charmed mobs can dual wield. IIRC it's a necro level 24 pet that is the first that can duel wield weapons you give him, so maybe the same principle holds for charmed pets?
I ask because I've been charming grimalkins in LOIO, and I suspect that it's not doing any more damage after I give it 2 daggers. The damage seems rather poor. Even when charm breaks and it hits me, it's pretty poor damage for supposedly dual wielding.

![]() Weapons on pets solo is a total waste of time. With the pet nerf you really have to kill off the pet everytime. In a group I agree the stun weapons work well. Most everything else not a big deal.
