Lightbulb A "What If" Scenario....LOY some time after Velious?

Before I begin I would like to state that...yes...I am aware of how and why this project was built. I am aware of where it is supposed to end.

My intention with this thread is merely to float a hypothetical scenario for a possible future after Velious. Here I go:

Legacy of Ykesha would be a great addition to this server after Velious. Of course, not all elements of LOY should be implemented. I will give a list of what I think should not be added below.

Here is why LOY would be a great addition. First off, there will be no level 65's with max AA's and elemental gear tearing through the zones. The challenge of LOY would be enhanced with this servers specifications. Furthermore, the Risk vs. Reward of LOY would be balanced. There was only one raid mob in LOY that dropped loot that could perhaps be compared to Vulak loot -- the captain of Hates Fury. The Innoruuk, Overlord, Overseer, Broodmother and Nadox "raids" drop loot that is comparable to Velious drops. As a bonus, these raids would also add a bit more flexibility and opportunities for guilds. Also, the spell & item quests for the various classes would add flavor.

The design of Broken Skull Rock itself I always felt was done well. It was one contiguous, interconnected island that looked great. I admit that the placement of mobs and other aspects of gameplay in LOY could have been better. There is room for improvement so to speak.

Another aspect I considered was the smallness of the expansion. Perhaps a small project like this could give the developers ideas and experience in adding custom content if said developers ever decided to do so.

Now, my list of what should not be added or even considered:

-No Froglocks
-No mounts
-No Relocation of any classic areas, npcs, ETC
-No charms
-No level requirements on gear
-No extra bank slots
-No completely functional shared bank

I may have missed a few things. The general idea I have here is to add only Broken Skull Rock zones, mobs, and items. Forget about all the add-on crap that was packaged with the expansion.

I am aware that LOY has a very bad reputation. Primarily, in my opinion, this bad rep was a result of releasing an expansion designed with level 30-60 content in a game that was past that threshold. It was like a step backwards. "Hey, we have level 65 players killing gods and what not. Let's make an x-pac with content that those high levels will breeze through!!!!!"

In the "climate" of P1999, I think people would find a new respect for this leper of an expansion. It has the perfect level range, the benefit of no AA's and a fair balance of Risk vs. Reward in its content(especially with no level requirements on gear).

Primarily, I made this thread to discuss how the restrictions of P1999 could possibly improve a widely panned expansion.

Secondarily, I am curious as to how difficult a project like this would be for the developers. I know nothing of programming and whatever else goes into making a game. I am probably utterly wrong about this but, would not the small size of the 5 zones in Broken Skull Rock be a viable testing ground for custom content post Velious?

So....Flame Away, I suppose. I would just like to remind folks, before they bust out their Flamethrowers, that this idea of mine is purely hypothetical. I "support" it in a sense but, I am aware that there is little chance of this happening.
