Jarsath Scale Drop Rate

I have been browsing through some old forum posts regarding gearing up a shaman. Someone had mentioned that you have a good shot at looting Jarsath Scale rots, and it may be worth it to run your shaman to KC at an early level.

How often does Jarsath actually drop/rot? am I gonna be sitting at the ZL for a while if i decide to go this route?
