Crashing Help

A brother of mine is attempting to play the game from this own PC and as the title suggests keeps crashing. Sometimes it will be immediately when logging in to the server, or 30min from actually hopping on a character and playing. All we receive is the error message of a crash and asking for us to send data to sony. Have tried WinEQ2 no luck. One time while on he all the sudden fell from the sky and died in freeport, sometimes the graphics just go crazy all over the screen and stick. His pc is on XP, vid drivers are updated. Tried running it with windows 98 compatibility, and we try checking the box under properties of the shortcut for 640x480, no luck. Any advice would be much appreciated, enjoying the server so far though on my pc. Also anything else I need to post to help possibly find this problem would be great, thanks!
