The "N" word, is it really necessary?

I feel as though this word is the same thing as nuking a village of small children. Both have the same intentions and the N word might even turn out to be more deadly as more information is gathered on the power of derogatory, racist language. Lets try to keep this in mind before we use this word so carelessly. After all, wasn't it just a decade ago when blacks had separate drinking fountains and rosa parks would not sit in the front, without a seat belt? I think you get my point....
