pt 2, can not update eqhost.txt

gives me an admin error, i checked and im the only account and the admin. any help is greatly appreciated. Im pointing towards vista myself. :\

You cannot edit a txt file on your own computer? Do you have permission to access the eq folder? Something is very wrong.

Happens on Win 7 all the time, cut and paste the file onto your desktop, edit what u need, then cut and paste back into your file. Works flawlessly

did some digging, had to go into notepad from system32 and open it as admin, its a Vista thing.

the first i do after installing win7 is turning of UAC[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Exactly what I was going to suggest, it's actually not too bad if you just use the built-in search off your start button and then right-click notepad -> run as admin.
