Default each time I start, it patches OFFICIAL

I set everything up, added the PATCHME part in the icon. The first time I play it works fine. I log into 1999 no worries. It all works. Everytime I quit and then click my icon again it logs into official sony EQ server and then I have to re-install and set up for 1999 server again. I look and the patchme part is no longer in the icon. Very annoying, as I forget to check and it ruins my install.

Thanks.

The official "getting started pages" doesn't mention the eqemulauncher. That would be helpful. Thanks again for the info.

While using the launcher is good for some, I don't like using it.

It sounds like you missed the first part of the Getting Started post.

First, Follow steps 1-5 in the guide for setting up EQEmulator at the Play Guide on EQEmulator. Once you have completed Step 5 there are additional modifications you must make to play on Project 1999 without any problems.
Specifically Step 4 which is to change your eqhost file. So long as the host file is changed you won't ever try to connect to Sony's servers

No I didn't miss it. It works the FIRST time. Anytime after that it somehow changes itself. Starts patching, then it's too late. I followed the directions, in fact I got it working on 2 computers. Just on mine for some reason it patches the game to retail EQ. (I checked, the host file even still says what it should.) Anyway, I have the launcher installed and it works fine. My son uses his comp which I set up the same day and it just works without the loader.
