Default factions not right?

Been tinkering around and I noticed a new Cleric of Bertox is amiable in the Rodcent Nife guildhall (Knights of thunder too), but only aprehensive in his own guild.

Human cleric of Innoruk only dubious in dark elf cleric guildhall too... but much loved by the goodies of Freeport.

I assume this is all known, just kind of "disapointed" faction is not "classic/right" here.

edit: bertox cleric indifferent in jaggedpine too, I thought they hated the plauge bringers..

While I can't comment on the Freeport factions, you are fairly correct about the Qeynos factions. At one point those factions were much closer to classic, but this caused new good characters to be insta-KoS to some of the evil guards...causing some unfortunate deaths on character creation. It was changed eventually to not be so bad.

However, I actually think that was correct. Qeynos factions were hardcore.

If you have valid proof, make a bug report in the bugs forum. Factions are tough to get down since there are so many variables, and rarely were any actual amounts released.

i gave up on reporting faction. iksar monks are fucked up too. evil races are dubious, good races are threatening. it used to take work to not be instagibbed by guards. Iksar are supposed to be kos to all races, and all races are supposed to be kos to Iksar.

Yeah I dont get it, faction is a pretty big deal in <classic> EQ.

Is it they dont know the real faction levels for the different class/race/religion combos or made them easier on purpose?

Correct. There was a huge effort in prekunark beta to get them even somewhat right. Before that, there were Ogres in Kelethin :P

Unfortunately the class/race/religion faction information isn't available anywhere. Well, aside from making level 1s on eqlive and going to con npcs :T

Post specifics and research and we'll fix them.

Ok Nil, while waiting for p99Red i'll log onto EQmac (Al'kabor) and start researching this for you guys.

I noticed that half the level 1 toons I made here to look around gave no faction adjustments when turning in their "guildnote" either, so i'll record that too.

Al'kabor has not been patched since 2002 or so, so it should really represent starting faction levels as they were in original EQ.

I know this was mentioned but Iksars should be KOS everywhere. I think this was well-known back in the day, I was a nub back then and even I knew that.

Does anyone know if human rogues of Innoruuk are supposed to be KOS in Neriak? I created just such a character on P99 and was surprised that the guards in Nektulos forest glared threateningly at me. Especially since I assume that human clerics, shadowknights, necromancers, and warriors of Innoruuk can all wander around Neriak unmolested (have verified this with the shadowknight in fact).
