Druids are amazing 1-59, and let you play the most different styles of any class. They can nuke. They can root/rot. They can charm (animals). They can quad kite. Teleport. SoW, Track, Invis ... you get the idea They can go wherever, have two very efficient leveling methods, and in groups they can help with anything except tanking.

At 60 they get an amazing buff, and they can teleport raiders to raids, so they are still wanted in guilds. However, they're one of the weaker classes in raid fights, as other classes heal/nuke better.

Soloing at 60, Druids can do some lower-end loot camps, but other classes dominate the better ones (eg. one of the few high end camps a Druid can do is A4 in PoM, by charming animals ... but others, eg. Shaman, can do the camp more easily). Because of this many 60 Druids still port, or cast PotG for donations instead. Also, 60 Druids can be amazing power levelers, so some sell those services or PL friends.

Probably the most fun of all classes.

Best form of travel and often safest ports.

Amazing for power leveling.

Great for different types of soloing like charming, quad kiting, root rot or blast down.

A good tracker.

You may not group but you can for snare and patch heals but you won't often be picked over others. But this doesn't mean your buffs aren't helpful in group.

Not amazing on Raids but a lot of classes aren't.

Great epic weapon.

Go for it play it.

Ports are laid back and zero risk but I wanted to add solid druids with good risk tolerance can still solo root rot velks frenzy and kill some named in chardok with charming. Basically anything that doesn't summon. A lot will chose to do stuff like jboots and peggy cloak instead, that works too.

That and shamans gonna shaman but druids can still be a viable duo partner with a melee depending on content. Could always hit NG, djarn or other dungeon camps depending on difficulty and which melee class/gear.

Druids are great while leveling. At 60 they aren't going to be able to do as much solo content as something like a Shaman or Enchanter. In terms of whether you should roll a druid alt or not, I would say it mostly depends on what you want to do with your time.

If you just want to have some fun leveling a new character, a Druid would be good for that. If you want to do a bunch of endgame solo content, Druid is more limited

Solo - very powerful with dots, nukes, and charm. Not enchanter or shaman level but underrated. I farmed my dragonbane herb in SG with my Druid…it was fun and easy.

Group - Depends on the player but they add a lot of utility if you work hard and are smart. Mobility, charm pets in Chardok and some other areas. Damage shield adds up more than people assume. In a duo I find that can be mana neutral even at the high levels using ES legs to heal with.

Raid - A solid middle of the road class. Nuking Gore, charming pets on plane of fear, spot healing elsewhere. You don’t want them to be a large part of the composition but peppered about they are helpful.

Even if they average to be a B+/B- class, they are exceptionally easy to level and can port all over and cast SoW. It’s a perfect utility player on a server that you might not always find a porter waiting to pick you up. Tho, for a dedicated raider a wizard is far better 95% of the time.

druids are fun to level to 60 if you're willing to charm, it goes really quick. And it's worth it at 60 for having a POTG bot. so yes, everyone should have one imo.

When I was leveling my Druid, 1-39 was a breeze. I could group as a main healer, I had a sow, and I could charm or quad when soloing. Once you get into the 40's though Druid healing falls off a cliff and you'll have a much harder time grouping since a Cleric or Shaman is almost always going to be picked over you.

Getting through the 40's and 50's wasn't too hard, especially since I was able to pick up a Lumi Staff when I was able to click it and PL myself all the way to 52 in a couple of days, but it was a almost all solo, which for me is a pretty big downside. In the mid-late 50's your charming options are severely limited since there's not many high level animals, but it was a fun way to mix things up when I was falling asleep from quadding. The most fun I had XPing on a higher level druid was with a duo or a small group; Druids are great partners for Necros and there were several times I was carrying the group's DPS with a hasted charm pet in Chardok.

As others have said, it's raiding where Druids really fall off, so them being "good" or not really comes to how important that is to you. If you want a porter and really like to raid, go Wizard. If you want a flexible, independent class that can buff the hell out of any newbies, go Druid.
