Question Wsock32.dll file missing from p99v62 download link????

hello, I have been troubleshooting for hours on my thinkpad T420 windows 10 trying to get my game to function properly.
I have downloaded the patch on two different computers with all of my security features off like 400 times and even transferred the zip file to my old dell 530 XP to try and unzip it there and I still can't find it????
is the link corrupted or am I missing something?
any help would be super appreciated I just want to play some classic EQ lol [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

wscock32.dll is a standard Windows file, you can try reloading it you can use
sfc /scannow
or
replacing wsock32.dll with another one from dll-files.com

Isn't dsetup.dll required for EQ v62? wsock32.dll was for older version. I think we don't need this file.

wscock32.dll is a standard windows libary used for network communications.

I believe dsetup.dll is the anti cheat. Watching for processes hooking into exe. Its possible that a socket lib is bundled in this but I would think both would be needed.

its good to get wscock32.dll because a lot of games/applications use it.

I am not running an extra antivirus that I know of other than windows defender.
I had disabled it completely and reinstalled titanium in my C drive games file and the patch zip before unzipping and applying it again and then adding the patchme to the launch titanium desktop icon and even added antivirus exclusions for the launcher and eqgame.exe so that windows defender wouldn't interfere... the characters I made won't show up and I keep getting the client not supported character in the login...

I can't seem to send you messages either. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Maybe check your profile? maybe you can enable it now or something. I'm not sure what the cool down is for new accounts.

Lets try this first. Should solve the issue with the missing dll above.

Go to
https://www.dll-files.com/download/2...BSSEZEdWF0Zz09

download that dll.

then extract that into one of these locations:

C:\Windows\System32 - For windows 64 bit. Most likely this location.
or
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ - 32 bit Windows Installations

let me know if that makes a difference. I would suggest doing a system restart after placing it here.

Just to clarify - you're attempting to connect to one of the (3) Project1999 servers with this client and not one of the (79) others, right?

Can you please attach a screenshot of the error you're seeing? You mentioned the missing file, but are able to see character select?
