Rage of Zomm is hot garbage.
Dyzill’s is actually not bad for a tanking fire pet until the 57 Earth. It just does crummy DPS. If root isn’t an issue a focused 49 Earth is the one to use to 57.

49 Earth is usually one of the worst pets to use in group, the others do more DPS, and for solo exp grinding the 49 Fire pet is usually best.

I have to disagree. Because P99 doesn't implement pet chaining properly, I wouldn't level with anything but the Earth pet here (at 49 or any other level).

With any other pet, you are guaranteed to get beat on the moment you drop the old pet.

I imagine you can get around this by using a bio orb. Blind the mob before chain summoning the next pet, so the mob won't immediately run towards you when the previous pet dies. The mob will attack the new pet when it gets into melee range while it's blinded. Recast bio orb a few times to make sure the new pet agro sticks.

That being said, many people can't afford to put a bio orb on their Mage. Just pointing out you probably could do a pet chain without an earth pet if you had a bio orb in the server's current state.

You don't need to fight things that require chain pet cast. Fire pet and a couple damage spells is sufficient for killing low blue cons.

Dyzil's is a regular pet with no duration and the true upgrade to the 1-49 fire pets. It's viability is limited however, you can't focus it with the fire staff and it's melee damage is low for it's level. I don't remember if you can equip it with items. Also it has a fire PBAOE so it's not a great grouping pet (not that fire is generally), it has it's uses on a raid where PBAOE is being used however.

Rage of Zomm summons a giant earth pet that melees for 81, can't be buffed at all and only has a few hit points. It also despawns when the mob it's fighting dies. It's mechanic's are similar to the Wizard sword and Cleric hammer. It does not stack sadly, that would have made it quite useful!

If you're soloing for exp the best pet is generally 49 earth to 57 earth, shoutout to the 49 fire pet which is also quite good for that range. If you're grouping water or air are obviously better.
