NPC Spawn Issue: POTENTIAL MISSING NPC: Lino Jinglebelly

Lino Jinglebelly is a level 1 or 2 halfling cleric with 1hp that should be lying on the ground somewhere in the third floor of befallen.

He's got very few hitpoints, less than 17. He doesn't give faction hits when killed. He's a pally/cleric (casts Yaulp shortly after he spawns). When killed, he spawns instantly. When he's killed this message appears: "Lino Jinglebelly's corpse falls to the ground and begins to fade, apparently wisked away to some other plane of existence by an outside force"

The earliest mention of him I can find on allakhazam was from June 02, 2001.

He's a cleric. He cast strike on me after I rooted him. He apparently won't talk to evil races, but to good races will say something about being in pain.

He spawns in the room next to the thurm that drops the dagger on 3rd floor near the well drop.

When hailed it goes something along these lines.

Lino Jinglebelly turns his head clearly in pain and says "Please help me... I.. am traped by [spirits]."

Or something to that afect. I tried every posible variation on

None of which he answered so I left it at that.

Well, I hailed him with both my chars, a 48 Monk and a 51 Druid.

The 48 monk got something like 'I dont think I can trust you yet with this information.'

The 51 druid got - Lino Jinglebelly struggles to raise his head, obviously in pain. He says 'help...meeee...I'm...trapped...[spirits]'

So apparently this quest requires a minimum level as both of my chars conned Lino as indifferent. I also had no success with getting further info from him... what spirits, how can I help... did not work for me.

He bugs me...but he is definately in the reverted Befallen...by that I mean, after the undead take Befallen back from the Dark Elves that held it momentarily.

My guild is staging a raid for lowbies on 9/1/01 and my Paly is there for support (since nothing can kill him in that zone). I ran into this punk, and I say punk because he con'd negatively (don't remember exactly what the message was), but wasn't scowls at you. I tried to hail him and he called me a "talking lump of refuse" (standard rude NPC talk) and before I knew it, my BABS jumped out of my hand and sliced his head off.

Ok, well that could have been my homicidal instincts taking over...but serious...he pissed me off.

BUT, he's not a paly or he wouldn't be angry at me (I'm good with all Paly guilds), and he's a halfling (can't be Paladins...though I do realize NPCs can cross race/class boundaries)...so he's probably a cleric (if Asslings..err Halflings can be clerics). Besides, Paly's don't get strike.

Anyway..if anyone figures this out...PLEASE post. I'd be more than happy to work on whatever faction is necessary...I like quests.


[ps...did anyone try going to Lano Jinglebelly in Rivervale and ask, "What about Lino?" or "Where is Lino?"

3. Lino Jinglebelly is in Befallen, 3rd level. He lies on the ground and when you hail him (you must have good faction or he will say your not ready for these secrets) he says something like " [ Help me ]. . . .[Trapped] . . . .[ Spirits ] . . . . Any attempt to talk with him gets no response. If you kill him, which is easy, he has like 8hps, it says he has been whisked away to another plane or dimention, I can't remember exact phrase.
Rumor has it that this unsolved quest opens up another plane =)
