For what its worth, I have asked for and recieved GM approval in the past to attempt to use the non-captain scout giants to kill Sontalak. Its been a long time though, different staff (Forum PM with Llandris, August 2019, when I was originally doing attempts with Aegis). We were not successful, and I've semi-shelved the plan, though I've tried to get a few attempts together for Klandicar that failed to fire due to lack of enchanters.
I have not tried to use the scout captain due to the issue that PL ended up in here, though he's very strong for this role as I believe he's fear immune. If anything goes wrong and he dies people are going to be grumpy about this. I was kind of hoping to try this on a quake some day when she's FFA, I kind of hope that's still ok and it doesn't get axed completely as a possible strat. I have always been curious to see if he resists Sontalak's fire procs if loaded up with FR gear, and I think there might be a solid low-man Sontalak strat possibility with equipping him and getting him solo on Sont, then getting bump tanks to give time for a dictate/CH dump periodically.
