Is it legal to sell characters for plat?

Couldn't find an answer. I know it was allowed once but I haven't done it in like ten years. Is it still allowed?

You can find threads in the trading forums for accounts. It was fully allowed for a long time
And turned off over night almost certainly to make plat less easy to launder for RMT purposes.

I think the account trading ended the same time casinos became not allowed.

There was even an EC tunnel fat cat named Bob in game who did a lot of account trading.

The earlier blue times I guess go down as some of the goodest good old days of EQ
