Game crashes back to server select.

Just installed this game today and had everything up and running, got to character select and then quit. Came here to download the high res textures.

So I did as I was told and saved all of the original S3D files into a backup folder, then extracted the newzonetextures into the Everquest directory.

I go to log on and everything SEEMS fine, except when it gets to the loading screen (and you start to hear the music) before character select, the load bar fills up REALLY fast till "Finished loading game world" and then crashes back to login/server select.

Simple enough right, I just screwed up the install. So I deleted all of the new S3D stuff and drug/dropped all the old ones back into the EQ folder and tried again. Same issue. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm just about having a seizure with excitment/anticipation of being able to play this, so this hiccup is killing me. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Thanks.

Just to add the error I get when trying to get back in - "Error 1017 Cannot login to the EverQuest server. You may need to re-run the update patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server (That's good right, we don't want to patch) This is usually Temporary.
