Default Returning player - how crowded are camps on Blue?

Hey all,

It's been about 4-5 years since I last played on P99, and I'm starting to get that itch for more classic EQ. Last time I played P99 was pre-green. The population was around the 1400 at the time.

Part of the reason I quit last time is I had a really hard time finding open leveling/pp spots at 30+. I either had to go to super remote places with terrible exp or try to find groups (which I don't necessarily mind, but don't always have the time for).

Is this still the case on Blue? I notice the population is a bit lower nowadays with players being split with Green. Will I reliably be able to find camps on the way to 60? Are there any money spots open at 60, or is everything perma-camped?

Consider Red. Seriously. The server is your oyster on Red. You also very rarely even run into PVP if that's not your thing.

Just leveled 30-47 shaman last month or so on blue, easy solo and open camps. Groups when I've wanted them. Can't attest to 60.

Awesome! What sort of camps did you hit up on the way there? I have a necro in the mid 30s I might solo with again.

Troll Shaman, I've gone: Oasis (crocs), Guk (squire and deeper), SK (aviaks, centaurs, treants), OT (bit of everything but the berzerker braids are great exp and set you up for your hammer), CoM. Found groups in Oasis often, easy solos in Guk. SK theres solo stuff everywhere and occasionally people try to hit up Split. Treants was mixed for my time there. Sometimes I'd go all day without seeing anyone, and sometimes five different people would come calling in an hour. Made a lot of money there for level 30. OT flew with the braids but these are sometimes competitive.
