Game freezes visually, but connection persists

Hi all! I've been trying to get P1999 working and have tried various installs both clean and Duxa's. What ends up happening is I can play for about 3 minutes or so and the screen freezes in place but I still have sound / can interact and use abilities. I still hear my character sitting if I click where the sit icon is, but I'm permanently locked in whatever happened in that moment visually. Hope that makes sense. Any advice is greatly appreciated it's been so long since I've played EQ I'd love to hop back in.

Are you using an nvidia gpu? I saw this in another recent post.

Right click Desktop
NVIDIA Control Panel
Manage 3D Settings
Program Settings
Select or add Everquest (eqgame.exe)
Shader Cache Off

ALT + Enter unfreezes the graphics, so you can at least play without restarting. However, the bug is annoying as hell

Search forums for dgVoodoo2 and follow the instructions. It fixes a lot of crashes associated with using Windows 10 and newer nVidia GPUs.

you know... it stopped happening but i did like three things at the same time and im not sure which thing fixed it. It's working now though!
