Default Freezing Screen when Pet Attacks

My Screen is freezing whenever my pet attacks. Sometimes it can take a few seconds sometimes it is instant. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue?

Do you have your pet's hits going to another chat window?

Yes, I do actually. It is in a separate window that is minimized.

PSA (this should probably go in the FAQ, honestly): if you have a chat window that is made very small (essentially minimized), your game can crash whenever chat is posted to it. If you are having crashing issues in the middle of zones/randomly/for "no reason", this would be the first thing to check.

Yup - like Sabin said that's your cause. Fix that window and you should be good. Note that you can set it to be pretty small, just make sure you filter the text so it only shows the hit amounts or something. That's the "hitsmode" (or whatever it's called) option when you right-click it. If you're trying to remove them altogether - that's a filter option too.
