Default Crashing on Zone loading / selecting character

Seems to be a recent problem as I used to be able to zone no problem but now it seems that 30-40% of the time I zone I get stuck on Loading, please wait... and end up having to force close the client, wait a few minutes for synchronization and try again. Is there a solution for this sudden issue? I've been playing since January and this only recently started (last 1.5 weeks or so)

Are you on a shared connection with heavy usage? This used to happen to me when people were choking the bandwidth with Netflix/torrents/etc.

Also I'd always recommend an ethernet cable over wifi as something to try for a more solid connection.

Not necessarily the answer you're looking for but its good to try and start eliminating what it isn't [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Nothing has really changed in my internet activity - no torrents and Netflix is and has been in use while playing.

Run the game in 'compatability mode' and select WinXP SP2. Windows 10 (if thats what you are using) doesn't seem to like the old eq client much.
