Can anyone recommend a good mage leveling guide?

I know there are many easily found, but people say some are bad, e.g. I was considering the 300 gnoll fang guide but apparently veterans say it's not a very good game plan.

If you were ever on the receiving end of my giveaways and games back in the day, please consider sharing some good strategies!
