Return of the plague?

The other day an EQ memory crossed my mind and I remembered a sort of long-forgotten set of NPCs named "a rude individual" who were part of the "Plague in the Karanas" event.

As I remember this event being a fairly long part of the early game I was curious if this would make a return during Green?
