Fear-Kiting Lag

Is this a standard issue for EQ? Or is it on my end? Just trying to narrow down if I need to do something.

Fear-Kiting in OT and mob jumps forward and back like crazy making me miss with my ultra-slow (albeit ultra-powerful) swing. I understand the mobs change of direction is a game mechanic and I gotta deal with it, but the lag?
