Monk epic with Primary item ?

Hey guys, just being curious : can epic monks use their epic fist while carrying primary and secondary items ? (or primary slot needs to be empty ?).
It sucks to have an empty primary slot !

Monk epic fist alone has a 9/16 ratio. Not bad if you consider the 1h primary damage bonus. If you wear a weapon you use the weapon and not the fist. You can still use the click (celestial tranquility) and obviously it is still your hand slot item.

Monk epic changes your H2H ratio if primary / secondary is empty. If you fill either of those slots with a weapon, your ratio changes to that weapon. If you fill one, and leave other empty, the filled = weapon, empty = epic ratio.

Other question : why do most people say Epic / SoS combo is better DPS than Adamantite Club / SoS for a level 60 ?
If I'm not mistaken, epic ratio is 0,56 (9/16) whereas Adamantite club ratio is 0,60 (15/25).

In EQ, players' mainhand swings have a flat damage bonus applied to each swing. This bonus increases as player level increases, and faster weapons apply this flat bonus more frequently. At level 60, this bonus is fairly significant and can cause a really fast weapon to outdamage a slow weapon with a better ratio (in the mainhand slot).

Applying main hand damage bonus more frequently is good. Also, the club has a stun proc iirc, which might not be what you want in a lot of situations.

The club also looks really stupid (imo)

at 58+ your fist with epic is 20/16, addy club would be 26/25. seconday doesnt get dmg bonus so SoS has a great ratio for offhand. a lot monks will use SoS til proc then switch to addy club in offhand for the stun for solo or groups

Here is the main hand bonus damage table for melees :

Level 28: 1
Level 31: 2
Level 34: 3
Level 37: 4
Level 40: 5
Level 43: 6
Level 46: 7
Level 49: 8
Level 52: 9
Level 55: 10
Level 58: 11

At 60 you get 11 bonus damage, and the fist become 20/16 (1.25 ratio) in the main hand, that's why it outdamage most weapons with a better ratio, addy club in comparaison become 26/25 (1.04 ratio)
