Default Line of sight and caster npc

recent patch changed :

NPC's will now be able to finish casting a spell without line of sight, but will still be interrupted if out of range. They will still require line of sight to their target to begin the cast, and line of sight will still be checked for area effects.

iam sorry but its not how eq was to begin with. i get toasted way too many time with the recent patch.

just the other day invs dropped on me and i tried to rush the exit but since 2-3 caster saw me i got toasted in 1 sec without any chance to escape. death trough wall. this is nuts and very anoying.i really think admin should rethink that and bring the line of sight the way it was. my 2 cent.

definitely not classic but this had to be implemented to prevent those fun exploits~

hopefully it is just a temporary measure until they figure out another way to fix it

Uh, mobs definitely would cast around corners, at least during Kunark. I remember soloing my shackle for my monk in dalnir in the low 40s with all those casters, and trying to pull them out of rooms still got me hit by spells quite a bit while out of LOS.

It is classic and working properly....

This is how it always used to work on live - things would start casting as soon as they get line of sight, and they'd finish casting unless you ran out of range (regardless of line of sight).

You now have to be quick and avoid LoS right off the bat.

I apologize, but this is the way it was in classic. When soloing in Lguk, my monk wouldn't just have to LoS casters in lguk to get away, he'd have to LoS, let the spell hit, then immediately feign before the mob turned the corner since they would be guaranteed not to start re-casting while LoS'd.

This is how it was in classic. This was also one of the most painful and annoying things I can remember from classic. I would not argue if it was reverted back to LOS.

phinny pull is now not really an option for anyone other then a necro or cleric/paly with harmshield and da's. u cant swim out of range a mob and he can nuke fore like 1200.

not sure how it was back on live but i was told to post this here
