Tried everything, game still freezes sometimes. Dev plz help !

Okay, i've searched everything and tried everything and i can't seem to find it. Some help from a veteran would be highly appreciated.

The issue: Whenever i login after a brief while, my game freezes, this happens mostly once. Once it has frrozen and i restart the game, i can mainly play without having a freeze again. The freeze doesn't occur when i alt tab or anything, it just crashed a few minutes ago because i casted a spell ? I'm using the velious ui so i've been thinking it could be related to that ?

What i tried: I'm running the eq.exe in windows xp mode, admin enabled, my ingame resolution is the same as my monitor (1920x1080). I did a fresh install, i installed wineq2. I turned off the loading screen like suggested in the faq. Reinstalled nvidia graphics driver, installed the latest drivers, installed drivers that were stable etc. None of this worked.

Any suggestions would be really welcome, since i can't find any new solutions through google etc. I've looked everywhere and i can't find a freaking fix and it's driven me nuts!

OH i forgot, i also put wineq2 on a single core and i'm running in windowed mode.

You have a chat window somewhere on the screen that is minimized which you probably set up to filter out some unneeded text. This is a fairly common UI bug - if you minimize a chat window to the smallest possible size, it will crash the client the first time it receives text. Find the chat window and make it slightly bigger. If you're unable to do this, close the client completely and delete UI_Character_project1999.ini in your EQ directory to let the client generate a new UI configuration file for that character the next time you log in. For example, my UI file would be called UI_Paulgiamatti_project1999.ini. You will need to reposition all UI elements for that character if you do this since they will be restored back to their default state.

Can't find the chat window, so i'm gona give deleting it a shot ! Thx for the advice !!!!!

Deleted the ui files, restarted the computer and started eq. It crashed again [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.], this time when recieving a tell. It doesnt give a crash error or anything, even the sound keeps playing. I gota ctr-del my way out.

Just relogged and looks like the ui reset itself.

It isn't the /tell, just asked someone to tell me and it isn't crashing. I'm gona delete the ui files again and try playing with the default one to see if it's the velious ui making me crash.

Apperantely there's a ui error log in my games folder; there's nothing in it if i open the txt but this is a great clue that it is the ui creating problems. Anyone know if i delete the ui folder it reinstalls itself after i open EQ ?

No, only certain files like eqclient.ini, character .ini, and log files are autogenerated by the client. It's possible this is a log issue - in your EQ\Logs directory, try moving your character's log file to a different location, or just make a new folder in the Logs folder and move it there so that the client generates a fresh log file for your character the next time you log in.

Did a fresh install and used duxa's all in one installer. Didn't crash for two days but just now i had the same issue again. I'm using the duxa ui; went to the error log and it says this ?

although that doesnt make to seem it crash.
This is getting on my nerves, i'm trying to charm as a druid and i simply cant play right now due the freeze...

I'm gona try one new fresh install, i won't install any extra's nor any ui's. And if it still crashes, i really don't know what's up anymore.
