/log issues

I'm installed on Win7 ult OS under x86 (for my p99 files) - whenever I direct a program (gina, zliz, gamparse) legal things to parse etc. It never picks up my log file.

/log on is ON in game.
the programs are directed to the proper log file (the character i'm online with and /log ON)
Everquest is logging, I can open and view the log files in the information.

Anyone ever had an issue like this? I'm thinking maybe the programs need some type of administrator access to read the log file but I can't figure out how to grant it.
