Can't opt out of Rants and Flames

Recently some spoilers to my favorite show were posted in RnF with no spoiler warning. I went to opt out via the control panel and after ticking the button, and clicking "save", I am taken back to my User CP page and it has not opted me out. Using Chrome, tried doing it via my smartphone too -- same error.

Any ideas, is it broken?

Don't think it's ever worked...I ended up using Greasemonkey and custom JS to hide the whole thing. Then again I don't browse 'new posts' at all so that might make a difference.
