Hello,
I first played EQ right before or right after Velious released. I played on the long gone Zebuxoruk (SP?) server. I loved the challenge back then. I played an Erudite enchanter and Toxx forest was simply unforgiving to a new mmorpg player back then. I loved it. Still, because I came from PvP MUDS it was actually a bit easier then the MUDs I played where corpse looting was the norm. I was in my early 20's back then (RL age) & I read about EQ in a magazine and how it sucked people's lives dry and so I had to give it a go and it was worth it.
Life happens of course, bills, babies etc. I have some free time again and I started to play on the Phinigel sever about 6 months ago, which I sort of liked, and then the Agnarr server which I didn't like. I know EQ is not brain surgery but the EZ mode that it has become is simply not challenging in the least and boring at worst. And the folks that EZ mode EQ attracts well... the less said the better. So, I made the jump to P99 a few weeks ago and I feel like Thomas Wolfe might have been mistaken. You can go home again! Thanks to all the folks who've made this game what it was again. It has brought a part of my youth alive again. And thanks to all the players I've already met in game who have been helpful and generous. I'm looking forward to a long stay, leveling up slowly and enjoying the sights and sounds. Even the boat rides
