Default Gargoyle Island OOT

For those who perma camp the AC in OOT, I am curious to know if you see that the Gargoyle island is usually camped? I was thinking of taking my upper teen Mage there to xp off the Gargoyles.

Not perma camped, but frequently camped. If you don't mind doing something else for an hour while someone else is there you'll be able to snag it.

This. I XP on my low-20's druid there and it's camped maybe 30-50% of the time I log on.

They're wandering mobs with multiple spawn points. If you're not killing them or their place holders as fast as they spawn, they're not really camped. Just sayin'.

^^^ Neckbeard Answer ^^^

There's only like 7 spawn points on the island, if someone's killing them already even if you felt like competing over them there are probably better things to do with your time. Getting ~50% of the spawns is going to be really slow going. On top of that you'll be getting skeleton PHs more often by not allowing any of the gargs to be up to kill them for you. Seems fairly inefficient.

Agreed, Darguth. I was trying to find a place for my mage to level and get some plat in the same step.

I can't count the number of times I've seen someone claim Gargoyles as a camp, yet 4 of the 7 mobs/ph were still wandering the island. The neckbeard thing to do is block the content from others instead of sharing.

I don't know what's so special about Gargoyles that people think it's a single camp. I don't ever see one person claiming all of the crag spiders in EK (similar in terms of total area and spawn quantity) or all of the sea furies, etc, etc.

Ok, as this is my topic I figure I can go off topic with it.
I had to go and look up what neckbeard was on Urban Dictionary.

Those extra spawns kill the skeletons that spawn. The camp actually gets really frustrating when the gargs become low blue because you are killing a lot of skeletons for nothing. Either way, it's not nice to contest this camp.

Most people will just leave because the camp is then unproductive and you will have "won", I guess.

I understand how the spawns work, but 2 people can keep it clear better than 1 person waiting for a gargoyle to find the roaming skeletons. It's just selfishness to claim 7 random spawns and only use 2-3 of them at any given time. These are 6m40s long spawns ffs. You can put one person on each spawn point and it'll slow you down to maybe 33% loot flow. An extra 1 or 2 people sharing the spawns isn't going to affect it that much.
