Knight tanks and the future

So I have a dwarf paladin now and he's really fashionable and I love to be a healer and also love to tank and im a huge fan of dwatf fashionquest so it's really the obvious choice... but yes, I'm aware I'm playing what is widely considered the worst and weakest class in the game.. but I hear in the future knights get a small buff in the velious timeline... so I'm wondering will life always be miserable if I make the long trek to max level, or should I roll cleric now ?
