Default What is the measure of sucess in EQ

Some players think they are successful if they have tons of plat which they use to buy upgrades for their toon. My opinion differs significantly. In my opinion success is measured in the gear your toon has that you looted, not bought and the friends you have that helped you obtain upgrades for your toon. Plat is mostly meaningless IMO. I don't think this game was intended to compete with Monopoly. If you bought all your gear you suck IMO. Try another game.

I feel I'm succeeding when I'm having fun playing the game. Either taking down boss mobs in a dungeon with a group of friends or exploring the little things like weird quests and empty zones I missed back on live so many years ago.

No "game" should be a job where one earns pixels.

Pretty much.

I dont think there is any "success" in EQ. Its a game. Either you enjoy yourself when you play it or you dont. However someone wants to play the game and enjoy themselves is up to them. It could be raiding. It could be soloing. It could be making money within the EQ economy(which is 2nd to none in the gaming world).

Off-topic from the original post, but Eve Online's gaming economy outshines the market game here in Project 1999.

Hey look it's another person telling other people how to enjoy a game. OP are you that rustled by people who have more than you that you have to create a thread which starts off trying to generate discussion, but ends up just being an outlet for you to insult a large part of the server population? Do you realize how silly it is that you're stating your opinion and then preemptively shitting on others opinions?

Anyways, since this dogshit pile of a thread is destined for RnF: OP is poor, bad at playing EQ, and is projecting his insecurities. I thought you would have learned by the "Green mob plat farmers" thread you created that people here don't agree with you, but you seem to be a resilient crybaby. Take your own advice - try another game.

Mmmm, not really. I played EQ the day it came out until I reached lvl 75. I am new to P1999 but not new to EQ. I had a blast then and I am trying to decide if it is worth my time now. If it is just about plat I won't be staying long. Just getting info. you are welcome to think whatever you like as far as my motives for the thread though. Makes zero difference to me.
